I actually took him to see that last week. No joke. He liked it because of all the 80's music and he has liked Rob since Hot Tub Time Machine.

He mentioned going to see Dead Man Down or JTGS. I liked Niels Arden Oplev version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and DMD pairs him once again with Noomi Rapace so it may be a pretty decent film.

Really? I go with my dad about every two weeks. My mom isn't big on going to the theater except for some event pictures like TDKR, The Avengers, Expendables and the like.

My dad is only 46 and he looks late 30's so when we hang out people have assumed he is a friend or my husband. It's kinda weird sometimes. But my parents are just as much my friends as they are parental figures so I can see why people misconstrue it. It's been a really healthy environment in the aspect of how laid-back and open they've been. They're cool and that's been awesome. Oddly enough, my dad is actually my step-dad but I don't treat it like that and I get comments about how much I resemble him...when it isn't possible. I haven't been around my unofficial ***** donor since I was 4 and I'm fine with that since he's a bit of a bastard.

If I'm watching a movie in the living room she'll come and watch scenes but never the whole thing. She may not love movies but she gets my love for them.

I have an auntie (who I'm house-sitting for now) who I'll go to the movies with occasionally, like once every couple months. She loves horror movies and was big on the Twilight so I always stood in line with her because her boyfriend didn't want to. She was real happy when I got her Breaking Dawn part 2 on blu-ray two days early. I enjoy the few times a year we get to go to the movies. She was actually a big part of the movies I went to in my childhood. I lived with her for a year when I was 12 and we went like every other weekend.

But from when I was 16, I started going to movies with friends and that's pretty much who I go with now.
Your mom sounds more like my grandma. She isn't big on films and only watches the occasional Hallmark or Lifetime movie. I was able to get her to go see Arthur Christmas last year since she's hugely into the holiday season. Before that the last film we saw together was Dodgeball.

The time spent with your aunt sounds enjoyable since it's a common interest.

Most of the time I see films alone. I only have a few friends since I've moved and I haven't had the time to really make an effort to meet new people.

I'm about the only person in my family who goes to the movies alot on a regular basis really. Depending on what time of the year is I see two movies opening weekend.

My dad hasn't gone since the early 80's I think it was. I think he and my mom went to see the Original Halloween or one of it's sequels he told me.

My mom usually doesn't go much either unless I'm willing to pay for her. I took her to the movies three times last year to see Rock of Ages, Pitch Perfect and Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2.

The 80's? That is a long time to never set foot inside a theater.

I've been bored and seen two films in one day on occasion. I went to The Avengers marathon alone since my friends had to work and my parents wouldn't dare sit 16 hours in a theater. Around 11PM they all showed up and were able to claim the back row that I had to myself all evening. Honestly it is quite peaceful to sometimes experience things alone. I go hiking like that and I find I am more appreciative of my surroundings since it's just me and nature. /Hippie

He's a bit of a hermit and one of those crankier old guys who likes to keep to himself. He used to download alot of movies and tv shows. Plus he's not really much of a movie buff like I am.

I know people don't like going to the movies alone, but I kinda prefer it. I like to think of it as my me. Even if I'm alone most of the time anyway. I've even seen the same movie in one day. I got out of the theater and went back in line again to see it.

I've never been able to enjoy adult films. I just can't shake the teenage laughter at how silly it all plays out.

I'm looking around the app store for a good FTP client.

I saw The Avengers - Magic Mike - The Avengers in one day before. The power in my area went out in the middle of July so instead of baking at home, I went back and saw The Avengers again. I literally had only been home 30 minutes when it went out for half the county. I can't say I didn't enjoy it.

I sometimes see two movies in one day if time permits it. I usually do that in the summer when the theaters open up earlier in the summer days. I've had the power go out a few times while at the movies. Most recent one was last summer during Total Recall.

if I could I would spend all my time at the movie theater.

I had that happen once in the 1990's. It flickered, went off and came back around 15 minutes later. I believe it was a Star Trek film.

Maybe all the thrusting of Mike caused a heatwave knocking out power across the country.

When I went and saw Magic Mike in theaters there was a whole group of horny older ladies whooping and hollering.

I used to do double movies all the time but I rarely see the same exact one again. The last double movie I've done was Take Me Home Tonight & The Adjustment Bureau. Lately I have to spread them out over different days.

mainly I only go if i have passes or free tickets. I loaded up before from a cereal promotion that gave you a free ticket for every 2 boxes. I don't know the last time i actually paid to see a film not using a coupon or pass. I haven't been to the movies in over a month. Last movie i saw was Warm Bodies when it was first released. I tend to see more in the March to October months. There was one period where I didn't go to the movies for like 5 months. To some that might not be nothing, but to me that's like 5 years.

That's probably a bad sign....anything happen to the audience since that day?

One thing about forums I've noticed, at least from my perspective, is that I never know who is male or female unless it's put out there. I'm always surprised to learn someone on a forum that is male dominated is female since I always feel out of place.

That doesn't sound like a bad deal if you eat a lot of cereal. I got free passes to a few films last year from poptarts and pepsi. I get some free passes every 3500 points now with my American Express card.

I go to the films pretty equally as there's usually something that sparks my interest. Plus, outside of sporting events and the occasional concert there isn't a large variety of things that I go to on a regular basis.

We need a live chat too. That would be more productive for some of the late night convos on here.
