It will absolutely be Criterion. All but confirmed in the newsletter art. Unmistakable. Can't wait for Eraserhead, either!

Well sit down for this then. Some people believe Criterion will potentially release a Cronenberg box set with RABID, SHIVERS, SCANNERS & THE BROOD. I am not holding my breath for this one but I would flip out in spasms of joy if this does become a reality.

Thanks for the information everyone. The Car is the kind of movie I could see eventually, if Universal will unclutch it's cold icy grip that is.

Yay for Scanners and other Cronenberg titles...I'll go for Scanners II and III if one comes out.

**EXCLUSIVE KEY ART REVEAL**

Here's something to lose your face over...THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN on Blu-ray this Summer! Here's the just-approved official key art that uses the original key art and tagline. More details including street date and extras to be announced in the next few months.

I like it. The composition of the Blu-Ray cover is actually quite a bit better than the original poster.

Incredible Melting Man? It's best worst movie material.

I had the same reacting when I looked at the first couple examples shown. However, more and more examples have shown up to the point where it's very apparent that it's not "drawing a little inspiration" and definitely plagiarism...

Love the (slightly and nicely modified) Incredible Melting Man cover! I've had a copy of the film for a while but am holding off viewing for the Blu-ray. I wonder if they can scare up a commentary track.

I really like the simplicity of the cover. A true guilty pleasure of a flick. I'm hoping for a few extras or at least a commentary track. Like I have said before, if Scream can work it out and get the MST3K episode featuring this film, it would be one of the best extras ever.

It isn't like he redrew them using the originals as models (which would still be copying if he faithfully reproduced every little detail), it's pretty clear he just copy and pasted the originals and maybe tweaked the colors/sharpness a little in photoshop. If you used photoshop to superimpose his drawing with the image he copied, scaling them to the same size and rotating as needed, I'm fairly certain they would line up perfectly, whereas if he just redrew things freehand they wouldn't. Look for example at the "Slasher Design" art on the bottom right here, and compare the torso of the woman with the torso of the one in the Julie Bell painting to its left, and also compare the two wolves in his design with the two in the paintings by Julie Bell and her husband above.

Think the inevitable MST3K episode clip was already posted a few pages back, but just in case anyone missed it:

(Suffice to say, it was a better Rick Baker resume' listing than a movie.)

But a novel idea...The original POSTER art! Say, wouldn't it be better to make it look like a really comin'-at-ya heavy metal t-shirt?

Rick Baker's gooey effects are worth the price of admission alone. The ridiculous plot and dialogue unintentionally (or not?) puts this squarely into horror-comedy territory.

Can't see how they couldn't, the parent company owns the MST3K catalog.

Yeah they did distribute it but Scream still needs to get permission and negotiate a new deal with the powers that be to release as a new disc and hopefully that won't cost a pretty penny.

I don't understand why MST3K stuff costs so damn much? Is it because of the movies used in the series?

Sweet! And agreed, I hope the MST3K version of the movie is included.

You post gave me the shivers, but I'll be absolutely rabid if this comes to pass. For now, I'll just brood on the possibility.

I mean, if the phrase "too good to be true" means anything...
