Details of the Jennings signing, not sure why the hell GB didn't resign him

Quote:

Vikings agreed to terms with Greg Jennings on a five-year, $47.5 million contract, including $18 million guaranteed.

The $9.5 million annual average makes Jennings the NFL's seventh-highest paid wide receiver, behind Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe, Percy Harvin, and Vincent Jackson. Minnesota put the full-court press on Jennings Thursday night by bringing in coach Leslie Frazier and star RE Jared Allen to dinner. After trading Harvin, GM Rick Spielman badly needed to replace his production. Jennings, 29, can play all three receiver positions and finished 2012 on a roll after an injury-plagued regular season, with 25 catches for 280 yards and four TDs over Green Bay's final four games, including playoffs. The way Minnesota's receiver corps looks now, we'd expect Jennings and Jerome Simpson to play on the outside with Jarius Wright in the slot. Minnesota also has two first-round picks. Jennings' signing is a good get for Christian Ponder's development.

This isn't going to be a matter of the Broncos just agreeing to sign him to the deal he had agreed to because they took a $3.25 million cap hit when they released him and re-signing him won't erase that.

Edit: On MRM's website they still list Travis Henry as a client. Henry hasn't played since 2007 and spent time in federal prison for drug trafficking. He has at least 11 children by 10 different women.

I've never heard of this kind of thing happening. With communications available nowadays I can't see how it happened. Especially when we're talking about millions of dollars on the line. Sounds like outright negligence by a crapy agent.

Free agent Elvis Dumervil has fired agent Marty Magid

Shocking. Magid's last-minute wishy-washiness on Dumervil's pay cut in Denver cost the player money and a chance to stay on a Super Bowl-caliber team. Per NFLPA rules, free agents who fire agents must wait five days before hiring a new one. Thus, Dumervil will be ineligible to sign a contract before late next week.
Stupid agent...

Apparently Elvis wants to play for the Dolphins(he lives in Miami). Now everyone wants to play for the Dolphins. It's crazy what a good QB can do for your team.

Ya, it's too early to really say whether Tannehill is a good QB or not. Considering the lack of talent around him I thought he had a solid rookie year. With better talent he's probably at worst going to be a decent NFL QB. I'd say wait and see how much he improves in 2013.

I'm watching heavyweights. One of the fat kids is rocking a Marino jersey. I immediately thought of you.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has been dropping hints that the team is close to a free agency signing. Last night on Twitter he posted:

Quote:
ColtFans,we already past the cap cash wise/ we're workin on a deal,1 we've been workin on for 5 days/ we're very,very close 2 making it work

Colt Fans,hint------ it's a Wide Receiver!!
The unrestricted free agent wide receiver market is pretty bare, so fans hoping for an impact signing may be disappointed. The biggest name remaining is Randy Moss, and Darrius Heyward-Bey may be the best young receiver available. However, there are a couple good restricted free agents with Victor Cruz and Emmanual Sanders both available. Either would cost the Colts a draft pick if they signed them, with Cruz costing a first-round pick and Sanders a third-round pick, and their original team would have the chance to match the offer. The Steelers have very little cap room and would struggle to match an offer, and the Giants could decide to let Cruz go and take the pick because Hakeem Nicks is a free agent next year and it's unlikely the Giants can afford long-term deals to both receivers.
