It could be a musical SciFi adventure with Rambo going back in time and training the Von Trapp family to fight and then taking down the NAZI's in a matter of Days. From Rolf to Adolf there will be no bad songs nor mercy.

I was thinking Valeria Golino. Wait, did they already make that movie?

Supposedly Rambo 5 is already in the works, with the character stepping into "a different genre." Supposedly it's not a war movie. Sounds interesting. Lots of Rambo news in the last few days!
I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Yeah, I've heard about this new "genre" thing... sounds interesting. I'm actually intrigued, could be sort of a drama/thriller sort of thing. Though I heard it's being filmed in Bulgaria...? I really hope it takes place in the US.

I think the ending in the latest one did the series justice and should be left as that. I won't spoil it for those who are waiting for the blu-ray release.

Default Rambo 5

FirstShowing.net Is reporting on Rambo 5 being in development for LionsGate.

Quote:
Sylvester Stallone went from retirement and wrapping up Rambo forever to bringing back the action hero for yet another romp. We all know that Rambo 4, aka just Rambo, did quite well earlier this year, and saw the rumors that started to hit immediately afterwards. But for the longest time we all thought it was nothing more than just a big rumor. Stallone was even quoted as saying "this is the last Rambo" and that "I can't go any further." However, a Hollywood Reporter article on Lionsgate from a few weeks back (via Film Junk) includes a mention of Rambo 5 in a listing of upcoming projects. This is the first time it's been mentioned in a while, so does this mean it actually is happening?! Say it ain't so!

The article on Lionsgate mentions in the "on the development horizon" section: "Rambo V, to be written and directed by Sylvester Stallone." This is a bit baffling, but I guess Stallone was convinced to make another Rambo film. It only actually made $42.5 million at the box office in January, but I'm guessing DVD sales have been through-the-roof. This seems like some solid confirmation that Rambo 5 will happen, so I'm curious whether audiences think this is good news or bad news? This year's Rambo was actually pretty damn good, it's one of the few films that I still really remember, but I just don't know if I want to see another one. Maybe I'll be convinced when we see some new footage?

Rambo was profitable. Here are the numbers:

Rambo Budget: $47.5
WW Gross: $113.2 million
DVD sales YTD: $38.8 million

I'm all for it. Rambo was pretty awesome. I'd like to see a bit more character development if they go forward with a fifth.

The only character development in the Rambo series was in First Blood.

Hollywood has no conscience. If a movie franchise is profitable they will run it into the ground. I'm surprised we haven't seen Casablanca 2: Electric Boogaloo...oh no I've given them an idea.

I will see Rambo 5 when it comes out because I liked the last one.

Hollywood will make anything, and people will go see anything. Thats why there are so many sequels. It's guaranteed money.

I liked Rambo, and I think he did a much better job bringing it full circle in the end versus Rocky Balboa. It was more believable as well.

He unleashed his beast one last time and came to terms with it and then headed back home. To do another one I think would water down the legacy.

I liked Rambo 4 a lot, and I thought the ending was great. I can understand another one, but this time they HAVE to hook up Rambo with a beautifull babe at the end.
