imdb lists Paramont Vantage, Miramax, and Scott Rudin Productions as the production companies for No Country for Old Men. They made the film; Disney/Buena Vista only distribute it. Same goes for things like Kill Bill, Sin City, Pearl Harbor (including the R-rated cut on DVD), etc.

I personally think it would be cool to have an R-rated Disney film, with the actual Disney logo at the film's opening, but to my knowledge, none have been made. Closest contenders we have are The Black Hole (has a few wicked deaths), but that's still just PG. The National Treasure and POTC movies are PG-13, for action violence, but nothing really hardcore. John Carter has a beheading and lots of creature violence, but it's still just Star Warsy type of violence.

I seriously doubt that Disney will ever release a R-rated film of any kind, because it's built its reputation for decades as a family-friendly franchise. An R movie would soil that reputation, at least in the eyes of the executives and stakeholders, so they would never take such a risk. Not that R movies are really necessary, but I would have admired such boldness.
