The sequel would probably be "10,000" (in reference to the 10,000 spartans attacking at the end of the movie)

But then that would be confusing to the average american with "10,000 BC"

I think Warner screwed themselves over....or it's all part of a marketing ploy to trick consumers into accidentally buying both.

Not that I think it would be a good idea, but there is more to the story than just the Battle of Thermopylae. Of course it wouldn't be a true sequel like you guys said, but they could follow the naval battles that happened during the Battle of Thermopylae...or maybe follow the events after it. I haven't heard this rumor though...seems strange.

While we are at it, why not have a sequel to Braveheart, Gladiator or The Passion of Christ.

I can honestly say that if they make a sequel I will not watch it. The 300 spartan story has been one of my favourites for years and i won't partake in them ruining it.

Why can't hollywood come up with an original story?

EDIT - I would probably go see another greek war movie filmed in the same or similar style. I wouldn't necessarily call that a 'sequel' though. What I basically meant originally, is that I don't want them to add story where there isn't a story just so they can put the name 300 on it somewhere.

I was reading in one of those movie sites that they are making a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and it is supposed to be filmed in the same manner as 300. This could be possibly what people are getting confused with. I don't remember which site it was on but I'm sure if it is googled it could be found. Please don't slam me. I am just speculating myself.

Wouldn't Alexander be the sequel.
After the 300 spartans die, Alexander the Great comes into power.

I can't believe they'd attempt a sequel.

This is madness!

Sounds like a perfect movie for Uwe Boll's directing talents

I wanna see Tim Burton take a swat at that. Of course those corpses might scare the hell out of the viewers, but still.

Seriously. A sequel to 300? That has to be one of the dumbest. movie sequel ideas ever. What would it be called? 300.2?

They could call it "1". If it's a direct sequel to the first flick.

You know, like how 300 got it's start in the first place, profiting off of the well receipt of a Frank Miller comic movie.

They'll prolly just try to get another one of his comics to transition over.

I think the battle of Marathon would be excellent material for a prequel.

I think I read somewhere that another movie of this style is being made and written or taken from another one of Frank Millers works.

A sequel to 300, no...

Another film with same style but different story by Frank Miller, possibly.
