Default Still have troubles playing Hitman and I Robot!!!

I posted yesterday that I have Hitman and I Robot and couldnt play them at all. Someone thought that a new update came out for the Samsung BD-P1400 but I already have the update of 2-28 and it said I have the current update when I try to update. When I try Hitman it pulls up the players main menu and I've tried everything but it wont play and with I Robot it wont load. The screen just stays black.

Please dont suggest buying a PS3 as I have it set up to work everything through my Control4 system and it is currently very difficult to use a PS3 with the Control4 remote. Also on top of that I do not want to support the Playstation as I think its a crap video game platform. No offense to others that love PS3s. To each their own.

Is anyone having these issues and can help with suggestions. Sometimes when I have troubles with discs I can eject it several times and/or shut the player off a few times and it will finally load but I cant get that to work. Maybe I should buy a PS3 and return it in a week or two so I can watch the movies I bought.

Looks like you'll have to wait for an update to fix the movie issues. Seems to be an ongoing problem with some Fox releases. As for the ps3 it is much more than a gaming platform. The bluray load times are very fast and I havent heard of or had any playback issues. What game platform do you prefer? Have you even used the ps3? It is a magnificent piece of equipment.

Seems to me you choose to have a player doesn't work over one that does.

You should vent your frustrations and questions to Samsung. Meanwhile, all us PS3 owners are enjoying trouble free Blu-ray viewing.

Enjoy!

You definately need to call Samsung. Either you have a defective deck, or it's the typical problems with Samsung

I really feel as if the PS3 is not a bluray player. It does play blurays but I definitely dont want to have to boot up a gaming console to play blurays and for those that do they are not people that enjoy home theaters. They enjoy playing Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid and on a side note they watch 1080p movies on their PS3 on a 50" plasma typically. I am a Xbox360 fan and think at this point the PS3 cant hold a candle to the features on the 360. Maybe in the future it may get to that point but its not even close right now.

However it would seem as if Samsung does not care about their customers in this manner and it would seem as if its not going to get better. Is there a better bluray player that is NOT the PS3 that maybe I should look at. It's ridiculous that the bluray camp expects their customers to buy a PS3 in order not to have any problems.

Have you had any movies you've successfully watched on your Samsung? It sounds like you have a deficient player. There are many manufacturers of Blu-ray players other than Samsung. Maybe you should try to get a refund and go with one of the other manufacturers that exist in growing numbers.

Dude, you are SERIOUSLY misinformed about the universe of folks who own PS3s. Perhaps you should do some PERSONAL research on both that and on the variety of Blu-ray players available now and coming shortly.

And by the way, this is the Blu-ray forum where Blu-ray is the primary focus. It's not really a place where it's appropriate to come in and fight gaming wars.

I think it's a defective player. I have both discs and the same BDP-1400 and they both play flawlessly.

PS3 is NOT a crap game platform. Now a system that has a 30% failure rate, THAT is a crap platform.

I'm not here to bash PS3 or the owners but everytime I post an issue I get about 5 responses that I should have bought a PS3. If I wanted a PS3 I'd go and pay cash for it. I dont so I try to make a note that I dont to ward off all of the posts telling me I should have bought one.

Thanks for letting me know that you have success with your 1400. I purchased mine from Amazon. Has anyone had the experience of how to warranty it through Amazon?

Jacket. Apparently you skipped over the part where I stated that it was my opinion and that each person has their own preference.

If you're still in the return period for amazon. It should just be a matter of them emailing you a label, and them sending you out a new one

If you're outside, you'll probably have to send it to samsung, since most shops aren't up to speed on blu yet.

I'd say you should pick up the Panasonic BD50, it's definately futureproof

That is exactly what you did with your "nobody with a PS3 has a real home theater setup" post.

I have a PS3 and have played a few games, but 90% of the time I use it for blu-ray movies and I do have a home threater setup.

Just because you don't like the PS3 for games does not make it a bad blu-ray player. In fact at the end of this month it will have more features on the blu-ray side then every other player out there.

If you want to let you bias cloud you from seeing the PS3 is a good blu-ray player that is your choice, but bashing those of us that use one as a blu-ray player is not a good idea.

I figured you were an xbox 360 fanatic spook. The ps3 is a multimedia console that does more than just games. The only thing the 360 has over the ps3 is better achievements and bonuses from gaming online. Also there is video downloads. There are more gamesbut most arent worth playing. You can fund plenty of excellent games for the ps3. When HOME comes out in a couple months it will blow xbox live away. Plus its free. You don't boot up the ps3. Turn it on, go to video, and watch the movie in a matter of a few seconds. I've had the ps3 and 360. I sold the 360 in a month. You can have your red ring of death, overheating, loud fan noise, disc scratching, etc... Xbox 360. Don't go hating the ps3 because you havent done any research and I doubt you've barely ever used one. On that note I recommend the panasonic 30 for a stand alone.

How many times do I have to explain to PS3 owners that everyone has their own opinions. I dont feel that booting up a PS3 to play a bluray is very convenient or in lines with a home theater feel. Let it go. It's ok that people dont like the PS3. I have done my research and dont prefer it. It's ok. I'm not standing outside of your window everytime you do to play and start yelling "You suck". I just don't like Playstation and I don't like it when people tell me constantly that if I don't want bluray problems I should buy a PS3. I feel that people that use their PS3s as bluray players are in a different standing than with stand alone bluray player owners. It's ok to have your own opinion but please dont get mad and go on a rant when someone doesnt fall in line with yours. Im not going to PS3 posts and bashing that "Xbox RULES" and PS3 sucks. I just want to ask people to stop suggesting the PS3 as a solution.

I went through 4 copies of HP and the Goblet of Fire and couldn't get even 1 of them to complete the movie. I would get an hour twenty into the movie and it would freeze. I have a PS3 60GB. It is, however, the only playback issue I've had.
