The Dark Knight Rises has been nominated for five awards for the MTV awards. Best film, best shirtless performance, best fight, and best villain (Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard). I REALLY hope Tom Hardy gets best villain, and I have voted already, so I hope all of you wonderful people can vote for The Dark Knight Rises as well! As I believe they should win for all five of their nominations. There is no way there was a better villain from the films last year than Tom Hardy.

Javier Bardem's performance in Skyfall was better than anything in Hardy's filmography.

Edit: Bardem's Skyfall introductory scene alone is better than Hardy's entire body of work.

Better than Warrior, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises. Uh no. Bardem's performance wasn't even that special. All he did was copy Ledger's Joker and a poor one at that.

Yes. Yes. And Yes. And some people thought there were similarities in the script (posing as a cop, escaping from custody) but if you think those are actual acting similarities you're crazy.

Django Unchained had two villain performances that were a lot more memorable than Tom Hardy's Bane too.

I actually edited my post to say the same thing as you were writing yours:

"Django Unchained had two villain performances that were a lot more memorable than Tom Hardy's Bane too."

Samuel L. Jackson would obviously be the other.

If anything Hardy's Bane is more of a low point in Nolan's Batman trilogy than any kind of cinematic achievement.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen Skyfall yet, so I couldn't compare the two; but I thought Tom Hardy's lame performance was one of the reasons that TDKR was the weakest of the three Dark Knight films.

Oranges and apples. Different kind of film with different tones hence requiring different kinds of performances. Also, if DiCaprio had his bottom half of his face covered, I'd like to see how effective he'd be with only his eyes.

You're right. He could very well be a completely ineffective villain with his face obscured just like Hardy was.

Talk about being in over your head. No pun intended. It really makes you wonder if the rumors about Nolan and Hardy are true. You have all these Oscar winners and nominees in Inception and TDKR and then there's Hardy coming out of nowhere with his equal billing. Special friends I guess.

I'm pretty sure anybody with a bald head and a buff body can be intimidating with a mask over their face and a dubbed voice

Why don't look at the poll in this message that asked for 'who was the best villain in 2012'. Bane won that poll so saying Hardy's Bane isn't memorable when it gets imitated quite often is laughable. The two villains in Django were good but I honestly had to remember who the 2nd villain besides Candie was in that movie and remember it was Samuel Jackson's character. What was his character's name again?

Anyway that Bardem in Skyfall was such a Joker ripoff. I rolled my eyes at that nonsense.

Its really not that hard to remember the name of a comic book villain, I can name every villain in 'Batman & Robin' from the back of my head easily.

I disagree. What a surprise, eh?

I don't care about MTV Awards but found it funny that they totally spoiled the Miranda twist for anyone who hadn't seen TDKR yet. It's not like Cotillard had a snowball's chance in hell of winning anyway.

So you can take your triple face palm and you know what

Heaven forbid I say something negative about the "great" imitated Bardem in Skyfall, I'll receive a "original", never been done before triple face palm.
