There's already several 4K upconversion players out there and with 4K displays shipping a few weeks it may be the way for people to start enjoying pseudo 4K with their present BDs.

No, I mean 4K upconversion players. There are no native 4K players yet. It's mainly because there is no 4K content as of yet.

Uh, no. Its BD players because the movies on the webpages i posted links to are BD movies, they are not Dvds. There will be 4K content released soon, such as BD's and BD players and hdtv's that support the next hdtv resolution number.

You are mistaken. There's not even an approved specification for a 4K format yet.

Seriously doubt it. The BDA nor the studios have said one iota concerning a 4K format being released in less than a month.

"Mastered in 4k" does not mean "encoded in 4k". The resolution on the disk will not be 4k. These disks will be 1080p and will play on any bluray player like any other bluray.

There are 4K up-conversion players now, native 4k players are not available yet, but they soon will be, although they won't be disk based, not yet anyway.

+1. It's like reading the last paragraph only of a news article.

Then why are you here asking questions that were answered in the first part of this thread? Come on, even I'm not that lazy.
