That is the minimum number of samples, not the most accurate....

Example, at a sampling freq. of 48K, the highest freq. you can reproduce is 24Khz and you only get to "look" at it twice to make sure it is 24Khz.

If you sample it at 192K, you get to look at it eight times. This means you can track the 24Khz signal much more accurately.
