Check out Sunny and let us know what you think. 👍
I watched The Harmonium in my Memory again on DVD last night. Have you seen that one?
It's a good drama with some funny moments and great acting by Lee Byung-hun and Jeon Do-yeon and others. Very exceptional soundtrack, also. This is one that I want to be released on Blu badly.

Did you ever get to check out The Show Must Go On ?

Unfortunately, no. I don't have Netflix, so i don't have a good source for these films, other than DVD / Blu-ray.

I live in the middle of nowhere, so the internet is entirely too shitty to even attempt a film on Netflix, so i just never bothered with it.

I will try and give Sunny a watch this weekend.

I have a feeling Sunny is not going to be something you'll like since from your taste below.

I would considered Sunny a movie for the family. I think your wife is going to enjoy it, at least more than you

Nah. I love Castaway on the Moon, and i really enjoyed 80% of A Moment To Remember. I don't require a film to be violent, depraved, disturbing, immoral, etc. However, i do prefer the darker side of cinema over the lighter side.

With regard to AMTR you really should have watched the theatrical version for your first viewing, it would have been much better IMHO 'but CJ-Ent release only come with the Director's cut unfortunately'

Like I said before, watch Sunny preferably with your misses/sisters/mum to get the extra viewing experience & true appreciation of this flick

Well, i just finished Pieta. I went into it with high expectations, considering all the reviews and controversy on this film. I enjoyed it, a lot. I found the ending especially, to be brilliant. I was very impressed with the main lady's acting, and her atmosphere of overwhelming grief and mystery.

However, i don't agree with people claiming this movie is sick, twisted, violent, disturbing, etc. I thought it was extremely friendly for a Kim Ki Duk film, and found myself wondering what it is, that people seem to find so outrageous in this one. This is definitely a lot less "bad" than the reviews / articles make one think it is.

I have a few of the recent Korean releases for sale that I didn't really care for.

I will consider trades for a second pressing of TGTBTW (KR) or animated 3D titles.

Sorry for posting here but I figured it would get more visibility here from folks who actually enjoy Korean films. Here is the link to my thread in the trading forum.

No, you are not. It was one of the first Korean films I bought, and I still watch it every now and then. The shoot out at the beginning was terrific, and I would love to see what it and the rest of the film would look like on Blu Ray. In fact I think I will watch it again right now. Thanks.

SHIRI deserves to be released on BluRay. It was one of the biggest Koran hits of all time and deservedly so. It's crazy that this film is not available in High Def. It's the reason for my love of Korean cinema. It's the film that got me started.

"Shiri" is the first Korean film I bought, as well.

Unfortunately, I also bought the Special Edition of "2009 Lost Memories," and I can't say I'm a fan of the film. There are certain kinds of films the Koreans do very, very well... but science fiction isn't one of them (you can add "Natural City" to that list, too).

We'll have to wait for Snowpiercer then.

How are the prices for Blu-Rays in South Korea, when converted to dollars? I have a friend visiting Seoul, and I might ask her to pick up a couple of Blu-Rays if the prices aren't super high.

I spend about $24 per movie. Not many places to buy blurays in korea though.

I agree with this. In fact, having seen both versions, I strongly prefer the theatrical version (got mine on an old Hong Kong edition of the DVD).

This film is great. An excellent companion piece to A Dirty Carnival and A Bittersweet Life. I call them "The Mid-Level Gangster Trilogy."
