I thought it was a solid but not remarkable adaptation. I'm not sure if I'll buy it, though.

Nothing at all like those films. It's very slow. Mostly talking. The only big action scene is a desert highway car chase that's all over the trailers to make it look more epic than it really is. About 25% of the film is Saoirse Ronan with a blank stare and doing a voiceover because she's talking to herself.

This will be a blind buy day 1 for me, hopefully I'll like it because I am a fan of Saoirse Ronan and the trailer did look interesting.

This was the worst film I saw this year by far. Two things in particular that killed it...the writing and that horrible voice-over. My opinion of course. If you guys liked it that's cool.

As someone who read the book before it was announced that Andrew Niccol would helm it, I liked the adaption. I thought it could've been a bit longer and that some scenes could've been done differently, but overall I enjoyed it.

I don't know if I'll purchase the home disc since there's a lack of special features. Once it's reviewed I'll re-think that decision.

They needed a scene to put in the trailers to make it look action packed.

I just watched this movie and I actually enjoyed it. It didn't have as much drama as the twilight films had and I thought it was a very good movie. What can I say? Deep down, an an old fashioned romantic ... I actually enjoyed The Host a lot better than I enjoyed the twilight films. Here's hoping they adapt the rest of the books, that are sure to come along.

I enjoyed this, I initially wanted to see it only for Diane Kruger but once I found out Andrew Niccol directed and wrote the adaptation I was interested, then a friend recommended it. I'll pick it up sometime down the line.
