The Mani 2 SIgnature is not all about bass either this is why I want a true in store audition, I almost pulled the trigger on the Mani 2 but I backed out.

I agree,I have never demoed speakers like Dynaudio and Totems that have impressed me so much in every area from build quailty to sound . I think I'm sold on them for life

So it looks like the X-16 has been dropped, the opposite of the Focus series dropping the 110. I don't really get making a new line of Dyn's that's even more inefficient, you would think for they're more budget friendly speakers you'd want to improve the efficiency not the other way around. Even though they're 8ohms the lower 80's efficiency is still going to make them tough to drive for more than anything but casually listening.

I have no merit for this, I was told by the Dynaudio rep Americas at SSI that the new Excite was coming.

I think the new Contour is in the making as we speak.

Didn't they go from 4ohm to 8ohm ? If so that should be a step in the wright direction even with a lower sensitivity rating I would think . Your more well versed then I am so maybe I'm missing something .

How many watts for 95 DB , only 16 watts now if you sit at 7 feet and you have a medium room you need something like 40 watts to get 95 DB.

This is 3db less efficient than a Mani 2 Signature, complete non sense to me but ok.

Tecnicaly if you consider room gain when the speakers are 2 to 4 feet away frm the wall you should reach 95 db at 23watts.

im not really surprised by them dropping the x16, the x12s and x32s were kinda the sweet spots of the line, and with the xeo3 and xeo5 they had to keep them, since they are basically the same speakers. im going to assume that the x14 and x34 are basically the passive versions of those xeo speakers. I was a little surprised with the x38, they have new woofers, and I wonder if they have the 3" VCs or not. if they do, then the mid-bass should be better developed over the x36s. Also the description says a new mid-range, so that makes for an interesting change. might make for a really good speaker. the center channel is a little taller, wondering if it has larger woofers, perhaps 5", but with the lower sensitivity, not sure id want it anyways. i was surprised by the overall low sensitivity of all the speakers. The average receiver pushing an 8 ohm load isnt going to get it done, very well.

they look fairly similar to the focus, which is interesting. I like the look, better veneer then what was on the older excites. nice outriggers for the towers too.
