Exactly. If you want 3D, get a 3D TV and a 3D Blu-Ray Player. Anaglyph is dead, thankfully.

One title I like, but probably wouldn't be considered solid, is He Knows You're Alone. I think it was released by MGM.

It was made during 1980 at the studio, the Pre-1986 catalog belongs to Warner Brothers now. Sorry.

If you purchase them for me as a gift that's fine with me

BTW no need to be patronizing, not everyone as an unlimited budget. Some things are more important and vital in many people life than getting the last techno toy.

BTW I never said I won't buy the set, what I said is that they could have put a 3D version that can be watch by everybody in place of a regular 2D version. Never said to use that in place of the 3D version for the rich guys...

But not everybody has a color television. Because not everyone has an unlimited budget and some things are more important and vital in many people's lives than getting the latest techno toy.

Peter Jackson's early films are a no go until the Hobbit is finished.

Wingnut has confirmed that they are restoring the titles, but both Arrow Video and Scream Factory have attempted negotiations, but they aren't doing anything until the Hobbit is all done.

There will be a 2-D version on the disc

I'm pretty sure all 3D Blu-Rays include a 2D version.

Well, MGM controls the United Artists and the AIP libraries, so there's lots of good titles there. A few off the top of my head:

BLOOD AND LACE
THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED
THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE
BEYOND THE TIME BARRIER
UNHOLY ROLLERS (Cliff mentioned this title in his online intervew)
The Price/Poe/Corman series
PREMATURE BURIAL
THE MINOTAUR
this list only scratches the surface of their genre titles

You know sometimes it incredible how some people feel the need to act like tools when they post on the web

I have made a comment perfectly reasonable and polite. I think I can wrote I'm not 100% happy about a release (a release I will buy anyway...) without getting a typical douche bag reply.

Anyway I've said what I had to say about that release...

You dont need a budget for a color TV...you do need one for a widescreen LED or LCD or Plasma TV of substantial size though

My post was a response to Jimmy S's assertion that an anaglyph 3D copy could be included instead of a 2D copy, meaning that one's options are limited to watching in digital 3D or anaglyph 3D or essentially a 3D-only Blu-Ray. I don't think that's technically possible within Blu-Ray specifications, I just know that's not something I'd be particularly interested in.
Just to playdevil's advocate - wouldn't an analgylphic 3D version be the only "true" representation of the original theatrical 3D experience? I suppose then a case can be argued that this version should be represented. I do feel that even then a RealD version would be preferred if only one is possible for budget reasons. I'd rather see something in watchable 3D than bad 3D. But both would be better.

Obviously there should be a 2D version, I think that goes without saying. 3D is a nice novelty, but I i imagine I'm not alone in saying that the 2D version is always my default viewing preference.

Haven't heard anything about that at all. Not sure Universal would part with it since they have a new sequel hitting this October. Then again, it certainly would be a welcome addition.

Newbie here -

Scream Factory seems to be the perfect label to release some stuff I've been wondering about...

Does anyone have any information about The Haunting of Julia (aka Full Circle) (1977) or Liquid Sky (1982). They seem like two films that would definitely sell but I'm not sure if either of them have any BD plans or not.

I've never seen Liquid Sky, but I've always wanted to since it has Paula Sheppard in it. Alice, Sweet Alice is one of my favorites. Scream should get that one.
