I watched Men In Black over the weekend and was just thinking it will be a part of this Mastered in 4K series.

My Sony mega-changer does xvycc color & my Kuro according to the forums I read says it accepts xvycc color.

It was a stellar transfer.

I'll be picking up Men in Black, Godzilla (guilty pleasure of mine) & Spider-Man 2 as long as it has the extended cut.

I'm really concerned that Sony won't put the extended cut on there since they left it off of Angels & Demons & Total Recall.

I would have picked up Angels & Demons if it had been the extended cut.
What is extra in extended cut?

Thanks, I may pick it up.
The extended Spider-man 2 always wound me up it just felt longer and the new scenes added nothing for me

Why wouldnt sony put the extended cuts on these movies? Thats just horrible. I predict sony in 6 months will remaster the extended cuts in 4k just to do a extra cash grab. Shame on sony

They are in none of those cases final directors cuts, they were double dips in the first place!

Spiderman 2 on blu ray has both. Total recall has both. But the New 4k cash grab does not

Cash grab? Ok, If you did not buy it they did not grab your cash.
A double dip cash grab would be adding nothing new, these add better PQ and expanded colour range.
Damn I swear some of you would have been fun the the Laserdisc / Vhs days.
They Are for a tiny market and do not replace the old discs and are not for the masses they are for the elite enthusiast

These are now showing up for Pre-order on Amazon Canada too specified as Mastered in 4K so I've updated the US listings.

In a perfect world we would have gotten Ghostbusters II in their 4K line, but unfortunately I can't see that happening. Some odd choices like, Pineapple Express?!

If you have a Blu-ray player that supports the Xvycc color range & a TV that does you get an expanded color range.

I noticed you have the Oppo. Oppo doesn't support Xvycc color. I'm not sure about the Samsung you have. I know with my Sony Blu-ray megachanger it supports xvycc color & my Kuro supports it.

The colors are great & the grain is better resolved at the higher bitrate so I'm really happy with the ones I have bought so far.

Also for people that are buying the new Sony Ultra HD TVs they have a special algorithm for upconverting to 4k on their displays.

I would call that Elite enthusiast.

What Kuro do you have? I'm pretty sure no Kuro supports x.v.Color. If you could confirm, that would be great.

Just curious, how long have Blu-ray players been out with the support for Xvycc color? I assume the PS3 does not support this, but the PS4 will?

A few years. PS3 does support it. Super White needs to be turned on.

What he said ^ glad some non vitriolic sense has come into the thread!

They should have made them expanded colour only or offered them as mail order, that would have made it easier and weeded out the chaff
