That sounds very close. I think if they include the Wednesday and/or Thursday numbers from early midnights and 3d shows ( or whatever those pre-sale things are for) it could do around $100 million for the first 5 days . maybe even a bit more but will finish between $245-$265. I predict a similar performance worldwide to that of Oz The Great And Powerful. Be prepared to be called a troll though for not thinking this is going to near $200 million in its first weekend like some people somehow think.

Simple: Zod threatened his mother, and he lost control. If someone threatened your mother you'd lose control too only you don't have the strength and abilities of a god.

This thing is going to be absolutely huge. I laugh at those estimating only a $100-$120M opening.

Totally agree with you.

Also, as an aside, I've been reading Superman Secret Origin and I wanted to asked the faithful who have been reading comics all their lives, what's your favorite Superman origin comic?

I'll state that I've read Superman Earth One, Birthright, and near completion of Secret Origin. I plan to pick up John Bryne's Superman The Man of Steel this weekend.

I'm just curious what others think. You can include the Superman the Movie as well, if you wish.

I don't know. As much as I want this to be a record setter, I honestly don't see it going as high as some people are saying. I will be really surprised it if gets up around $150M. I'll be happy about it, but surprised.

I loved Secret Origin and Birthright. Not a big fan of Earth One or Byrne's Man of Steel. My favorite iteration of the origin in the comics might be Superman for All Seasons by Loeb and Sale. Although it's hard to pinpoint how to describe it, Secret Identity is one of the best Superman books out there. You must check it out! Also...the first page of All-Star Superman.

Yeah, I have a HD digital copy of All Star Superman, animated film so I know of the first panel.

After just finishing Secret Origin, I still think Birthright is my favorite. I'll check out For All Seasons and Secret Identity. I was curious about those two but passed after picking up Secret Origin.

Early tracking has MOS well over $100M opening weekend. It will break the June OW record.
