I know Cliff has said No to Albert Pyun and Jean Claude Van Damme movies in the past. However, if this decision ever changes, I would love to see a Shout release of the post apocalyptic thriller Cyborg in the future. MGM has the rights, and it is a perfect fit for what Shout/Scream specializes in. It has some sci fi elements, slight horror themes, and Van Damme showing off his martial arts skills. I mean this movie is perfect for Shout, and is easily one of Van Damme's most gritty earlier films. There were some serious cuts to the blood and gore if I remember correctly. Pyun released sort of a director's cut a few years ago to some fans but specifically withheld the cuts to blood and gore. Why? I have no idea. I actually preferred the theatrical version to his version, but there were some different themes and alternative scenes that I liked. Maybe Shout could restore all the blood and gore and release a definitive version. I won't get my hopes up though because I know it's a long shot.

didn't see Black Christmas on that list. Maybe there is a chance for a better release?

I would like these two to get some Scream Factory Treatment....I think it would make a solid double feature!

With a pretty extraordinary (PQ-wise) version of the theatrical already available for $9, I don't see the need for anything else.

I own the theatrical version and agree that it looks pretty good. However, I would double dip on Cyborg in a heartbeat if the movie was released the way it was meant to be and the uncut footage was restored.

I like Stigmata a lot and saw it in the theater as well. I was lucky enough to catch it on Netflix in HD last Friday right before it got removed on June 1st and it looked pretty good in HD. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

It's a shame that I missed HD Stigmata on Netflix. The script was intelligent. Hopefully Stigmata gets released in high definition.

Did Warner get The Keep its in deal with Paramount?

Some company, I don't really care who needs to pry it away from them....

Quick look shows that Somerville House is the label that's released both Rabid and Black Christmas in the US (the latter on both DVD and Blu-Ray).

Default What are your favorite current Scream releases?

I was wondering what are your favorite Scream releases out of the following? And which transfers are superior PQ wise? (I've read all the reviews on three sites on PQ and read the forums; I would like your input as well).

I'm using this information in my decision on which Scream titles to buy next. If the titles are not listed I already own them or they are not released yet. I'm ordering Monday. I'm going to pick up three Scream titles.

1) They Live
2) Deadly Blessing
3) The Island
4) The Nest
5) From Beyond
6) Phantasm II
7) The Vampire Lovers

What about Somewhere In Time? Who has the rights to it?

I know it isn't horror but it is a solid film with a nice size cult following and has sci-fi elements to it. The last dvd release has an atrocious non-anamorphic transfer and the movie deserves a decent release. And John Barry's score is the most beautiful score ever created for a movie in my opinion.

Sounds like a perfect Shout title...I agree about the score, and I'd put Barry's Out of Africa score right up with it, too

It's all Universal, and I agree, I can't imagine why this hasn't been released on Blu-Ray. It's popular enough that they still have conventions for it held every October! (http://www.grandhotel.com/specials/p...n-time-weekend)

Somehow it makes no sense that a film that has that popular a following and a still-popular soundtrack (it's still in print after all these years) hasn't been released on Blu-Ray yet. Would be an easy sell for Shout, though you wonder if Universal isn't hanging onto it for themselves.

There aren't too many made for tv horror movies that rival this movie in my opinion even though it is pretty kid friendly. The out of print Anchor Bay dvd is currently going for $200 on Amazon.
I cast my vote for this one as well. I have the DVD, but I'd love to get it in HD as well with a lossless 2.0 stereo track. Curiously, Wikipedia states the TV runtime as 97 minutes, but the DVD is only 94 minutes. I wonder what's missing.

For TV-movie runner up I'd have to give it to Midnight Offerings. That was pretty good as well. It never even found its way onto DVD.

BTW, I have a question for anyone who has Shout's Halloween II BD. I was thinking of buying it, but i wanted to know if the DTS-HD MA 2.0 track is STEREO or MONO. As I mentioned in the original Halloween II thread, some reviews say MONO, some say STEREO. If anyone who has the disc can clarify it for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
