I agree. Maybe there'll be a steelbook down the line that uses that artwork...

How Warner thought this set demanded a $50 MSRP is beyond me. It should have been $24.99 at most, with a store price of $20 or less. It looks extremely cheap.

Also, the embossed dragon on the back of the box looks much nicer than the image on the front. They should have went with tht with the foil title across it.

This isnt in any flyers either weird. Hollywood always treats Bruce like dookie to this day, its 40 years it deserves more respect. I guess WB only cares for wizard or oz rereleases and Casablanca.

I like this cover because WB is doing something different. Most (all?) use the same poster for previous releases. If that was never been used before I understand the complaint because it'd be a tragedy.

That last scene is iconic and I like the execution of the cover.
Can I ask is the original WB Saul Bass Opneing logo still intact or did they replace it?

Good news: I just popped the disc in and the original Saul Bass logo is intact. Sadly, I don't have time to watch the rest of the movie now, but I had time to answer that question.

Nice! I won't feel as bad paying 35.00 for the new disc.

Excellent news, this gives me great hope that the Original Saul Bass logo will be on the new 40th Anniversary edition of The Exorcist as well.

Would anyone who has or is getting this release and also has a BD-Rom drive mind doing comparison pics with the original 2007 release? As I have that release and I'm interested in getting this release if the transfer's better then that one.

I know that they'll be screenshots in the upcoming review but it'll be interesting seeing side by side comparisons between the two. I just hope the jaggies have been fixed?

True but Shout Factory is doing the same thing. $120 for only 4 blu-rays. Both companies are taking Bruce Lee fans to the cleaners. It's best to have some patience as both releases will drop in price once the companies realize they're aren't many takers for what they are releasing.

Sadly, the methods I use to take screenshots are always a little behind. Unless someone has a recommendation for a different program or method, I can only take caps off discs that are a few months old.

However, if anyone wants to post some examples of aliasing on the old Blu-Ray, I can at least make some comments. Otherwise, I'll have to compare to the DVD, which will be less revealing.

EDIT: Looks like I just needed LARGER caps. Assuming the DVDBeaver shots are accurate, I now know what to look for.

Pretty much the entire presentation of the film was affected by the aliasing. You need only to look at the caps of the review on the site here...it's clearly evident in almost all of the shots...specifically these:

This release deserved a nice digibook and then that would've made the price sound more reasonable. Not too much care or thought put into this at all

It is very strange. It's plainly obvious in the caps in the post above this one and on the DVD Beaver caps (so obvious that I was skeptical it was that bad), but I don't really see it in the Blu-Ray.com caps. I don't know why that is, other than the fact that I can't make those ones fill my screen.

Anyway, this is a very film-like image. Lots of soft-looking shots, which will bother the uninformed. My only complaints so far come from color. I think reds look a tad over-saturated (I thought maybe it was my display, but I see the same effect in one of the shots in the post above me), and there's the overall color-timing of the transfer, which has that modern tilt -- Bruce's navy blue outfit at the beginning is now slightly teal, the water when he strands the ******* in the boat is very green).
