Is the patch today or tomorrow?

Unfortunately, rather than fix their own bug, they just removed a viable tactic in the game.

For instance, I'm being chased by two guys. I ditch the flag, hop in the plane, kill the enemy, hop out, grab the flag, whistle Dixie as I cap it.

And how lame was that comment by Dylan? If they've "observed" stat padders using that option, then simply nuke all their points. Problem solved.

Who the F cares about stat padders. I want to enjoy MY game. It makes no difference if some dorks stat pad to get rank if they suck. Geez, this isn't some game-altering exploit and this isn't a MMORPG where rank affects the character. You can either play or you can't.

I know, I know, most people won't know or care about this. However, many mid and higher lever players do toss the flag for various, non-stat-padding, reasons.

Tired of being penalized for stuff that isn't my fault.

I hope not.

The 1.3 patch is today and should be live any minute. It adds the bio-field and wrench and "fixes" a couple items.

The $8 or whatever update is on the 17th and has the APC and new snow map.

Ive very excited for the 17th.. because its the 3rd week of april, possibly the new store is released on that day, with broken mirror, and its my birthday how could that get any better.

I don't know about this "bio-field".... I sure hope it doesn't mess the gameplay up as I spend a lot of time in this game! The game itself is already classic and to add something like a bio-field... I dunno, feels like it just doesnt fit with the rest of the game Hopefully I wrong once I finally start playing with it.

Maybe they will offer rooms where the new things arent in? Like an option to have the biofield on or off...??

I was thinking something like that but I don't know if it is possible..... while we are on the subject, can you disengage certain weapons when you create a server? I hate it when people sit behind a mountain and fire TOW missiles the whole game so I really just wish I could disable them... is that possible?

I agree - I'm worried. I like the game the way it is - just give me a free map once in a while and I'm good. And if you are going to "update the gameplay" make it a new option.

We'll see.

There's a map on the 24-player CTF cycle that is out of F-ing hand. Whoever takes the middle base owns the map. The loser gets 2 Warhawks, 1 tank and a couple jeeps and an open base.

People just sit there and TOW and Binoc almost non-stop.

It's funny when some "pilot" brags about having 50 kills at the end. Any monkey could rack up 50 kills by sitting there launching a TOW every 2 minutes while launching other stuff into the lone open spawn point. Hell, you can get 4-6 each time by simply firing it in the center of the base.

And if the controlling team is smart, they just sit there destroying the AA and 2 planes. There's only 1 rocket launcher that spawns in the base.

I wish the 24-player track had the full maps. The reduced maps are too crowded and lend themselves to BS games like the one I mentioned.

I must have been in one of those the other day. It didn't seem to matter what we did once we lost the center base. I showed up into the game late and was constantly getting killed right in the base. Crazy.

Yeah, it's common. Although, if the players doing it are newbs you can still win.

The other day I joined a game about 13 minutes in and the base was being hammered. They had 6 Warhawks sitting overhead and people were *****ing.

I just ran out of the base and along the edge of the map to their base. I grabbed their flag casually and took a jeep. I was probably 75% of the way home before seeing a Warhawk as they were too busy padding their stats.

Too bad I'm not half bad in a jeep. I strolled the flag home, we scored, we won.

So, sure they had like 1500 kills to our nothing, but we won the game.

In the end that is all that matters. I sometimes have low points total just from defending a base close to the flag. But if we can hold those bases we end winning the game.

I just updated to 1.3. The new items are nice, but I can't seem to select my knife again after I picked up the wrench.

In a quick test, I took a Warhawk to 50% health (1 grenade). It took 3 swipes to fix it 100%. Each swipe too 25 points of the wrench's charge (has 400 total).

I tried the bio-field too. It's pretty quick. I set it up and then naded myself, which caused about 80% damage. I was 100% in about 2 seconds.

BTW, there are some changes to CTF I hear. I guess it's possible that saving the flag can take up to 90 seconds (worst case scenario). Better have a bio-field on you.

Also open mic is live now. I haven't tested it (you can turn it off/on in sound options). Someone said that you should set the sensitivity below 70% if you don't like to hear yourself breathe.

Finally,you can no longer switch teams on official servers. I guess being in a clan and having friends is pointless in Warhawk. This kind of bums me out, because I like playing with friends when they are online. I wouldn't mind playing against them if I could talk to them, but you only get seconds between maps.

Feels like this game is going south for me sometimes.

Oh wait forgot something, the 50-cal guns are beefed up. More damage, more health (I hear) and more shells. I forgot to test this and I have to run, but it's being talked about on other forums.

I wonder if it sorts based on clan tags. Were there multiple people from a clan in the game you were in? Maybe we should test this out.

I wouldn't mind not being able to switch teams IF they sort based on clan tags. Otherwise, we fill their Inbox with complaints about clans. That's a big deal.

Heres a question for you. why does the game switch me from red team to blue team in between maps? Drives me nutz because i will be on one team with a buddy, then the next im on the other team and it switched me...

Most games will auto level to make the teams more fair. I'm not sure if warhawk does this, but it will definitely shift people around if a bunch of people from one team quit and the numbers are lopsided.

Btw, was fun exchanging fire last night copywriter... I was under a bit of consternation as you were mining all of our planes in our base and dominating the skies. Patrick would call out when he downed you and all I could think of was, "YES! Finally I can get in the air!" - He explained that apparently he ticked you off and so you went on a revenge spree with mining the planes.


There was some fun dancing in the air... My flight skills are getting better, but you do a pretty nasty job all around, I'd catch you just a bit too late each time. Twas fun!
