Default Streaming Sirius Radio thru PS3

Is there anyone on here who has Sirius Satellite Radio? If so, have you been able to surf to their site, on PS3, and log onto the player to listen thru your PS3? I can't seem to get this to work. I put in my username and pass and it doesn't do anything. perhaps there is a plugin i need on the PS3 that I isn't autoinstalling. If this is the case then how do I get the plugin installed on the PS3. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Most newer receivers are built with Sirius Satellite capabilities built into them. Just jack directly into your receiver if it has the capability. My Onkyo 805 has the ability. No need to stream over the internet whatsoever.

I'm not sure how sirius works, but you have to have a radio for the receiver. It has built-in controls and possibly a tuner, but it requires a different connector on the antenna.

However, one thing that I like which XM is doing is a small card (like a memory card) which is your radio "ID", and you can plug and play it in different receivers. My car, the dock on the home receiver, etc all can be used (not simultaneously of course) with one subscription... whereas before I had to buy a dock for my mini radio and lug it around. Not a big deal, but my old radio is about the size of a 3.5" hard drive and the memory card unit is about the size of a ps2 memory card.

The PS3 browser can't run Flash content very well, and I'm sure the widget used to stream the audio is advanced flash.

You will need to use the most current version of TVersity and a plugin called uSirius, info/guide can be found here.

thanks for the replies guys. I know that most new recievers have satelite built in but mine does not. (i believe you would have to pay a monthly fee for the extra radio anyway to do it this way). I think I will just try the TVersity method for now since I am already hooked up with it. Altho it prolly won't work since I have a Canadian account.

I know for a fact that you can not stream Sirius on the PS3 browser.

Also, if you have a reciever with Sirius built in, don't you still need to run an antenna outside? I'm not going to go through all of that when I could just stream it from the internet for free.

If I had it built in to my receiver I would run an antenna (it takes all but 2 minutes). The sound quality is pretty much CD quality, much better than streaming. Also, how do you know "for a fact" that this cannot be done trhu the browser. is it because you tried and failed or you know something we don't? If you know something then spill the beans please.

Beat me to it but I want to add that I use this setup and enjoy Sirius through my PS3 pretty much any time that I am editing music files on my PC. It's annoying to have to pause my music to hear a sample so I leave my PS3 on in the background.

Well most people cant get a wire from their receiver to the outside of the house easily (Unless you like wires hanging out everywhere).

I know it doesn't work because I tried, and then went to the Sony PS3 forums and asked there about a month after launch. I have it bookmarked and try it everytime I upgrade the firmware.
