That is one big IF, but given what Rossio & Elliot do with sequels, once they think the title is popular....I don't think we'd WANT one.
Lest we end up with the Ranger & Tonto fighting evil native Shamanic spirits and the Ghost Riders in the Sky.

I have been following the news on this movie very closely. Ever since I found out about this new upcoming movies existence, the movie had gone over budget one time and was changed one time. But I am very surprised to find out that it says on a website article that its been confirmed that The Lone Ranger's production budget went over budget twice and was changed twice. I guess i have missed a website article or two about this movie .

Clearly you did. Maybe now you'll learn to listen to us on this board and take us at our word instead of arguing with us?

Yes. I might not always agree with something someone says, if I am aware that they are incorrect. Also, Once the movie is released to theaters, do you think this Lone Ranger movies actual production budget will be revealed on the internet ?

Remember the early stages of planning the film where The Lone Ranger and Tonto were going to fight Werewolves? maybe they should have stuck with that.

That was taken off of the script early because they didn't want a production budget, that would be like Pirates 3's huge $300 million dollar production budget. They were going to have supernatural-type CGI wolves involved the story/plot of The Lone Ranger.

I think this movie may be the tanker of the summer based on budget and expectations.

I don't think this is going to do as poorly as After Earth.

Well, this is only tracking for $35 million its opening weekend, and has a lot of competition, with 'White House Down', 'Despicable Me 2', and 'Pacific Rim' either opening the week before, during, or after. It's got an uphill battle, and it doesn't look good. Even if it opens higher than 'AfterEarth', depending on how much it makes, it could still up being a bigger loss for Disney than 'AfterEarth' is for Sony.

Fair points. I still think this does around $50 based on prior July 4th's. It's still going to end up badly. I think it's absurd that almost anything is made for that inflated of a budget.

This movie should never have costed this much. The fact that the budget ballooned almost $40 million more than it was supposed to is insane...A western should never cost anything more than $150 million, let alone $250 million. But it's because Verbinkski had trains built and everything for the film, he was bent on having real trains built from the ground up for the film.

And then after more busts at the box office Hollywood punishes us with higher ticket prices

After Earth should have never cost $150M. How it cost that much I have no idea. I have a feeling you wont see what looks like a 250M film in Lone Ranger.
