I'm probably in the minority when I say this is my favourite Batman movie.
Out of the earlier ones anyway. I have only seen Begins of the new batch.

P.S Hello everyone, I've been lurking here for a while but decided to actually join. Hooray!

It's not my favourite, but I do like it. I must be the only person alive who both enjoys Batman & Robin and hates The Dark Knight.

Patrick Stewart was in consideration for Arnold's role.

thank the movie Gods that never came to pass. No need for Patrick to have the blemish.

In my opinion The Dark Knight and the DKR are very far removed from what Batman is. It's almost like they are ashamed that Batman origins are in comics. They are far too serious. Don't get me wrong they are good films but as a look into the world of Batman they fall pretty short. Batman Begins on the otherhand embraced the comic origins and forged a deep look at what makes Batman who he is.

Now if you look at Batman and Robin, it is closer to what Batman is than both DK and DKR. Sure it may be quite a bit camp and silly but BATMAN has been that many times before. Remember anti shark repellant.

Batman is one of those characters that over the decades has had many different versions. There has been the camp version in the 60's & 70's, the dark version in the 80's and the more technological one of the modern era. But all the versions have one thing in common and that is the over the top baddies and the embracing of the super natural. All of the villians have things that are very unreal. Lazarus Pitts for everlasting life, laughing gas that kills and venom that makes skinny people giants.

If Warner do decide to make another Batman series then I hope it is more like a dark fantasy. No real world relevance but embraces its comic roots completely. Warner should take a leaf out of the Batman Arkham games and base a film series with the same tone and style.

Initially I did as it didn't look like a superman film. When it showed too much of a moody looking Clark on a boat.

But the later trailers show that it does embrace its comic book roots with aliens, space ships and has over the top fighting. Man of Steel does look like a Superman film.

I just can't bring myself to buy this. I am a huge Batman fan so I can't do it. I think if I wasn't a Batman fan, I'd probably put this so bad it's good category and pick it up.
