PS3 DTS-HD MA + 1080i deinterlacing "please look forward to them."

well, well, well. They pretty much said we won't be getting DTS HD-MA this quarter because we're getting the ps store update, which is nice.

* The update schedule is not different from before, basically a large update is once in a quarter. However the next update may be soon because of the PS Store.

But maybe they meant we'd be getting both. Like we're gettin this PS Store update soon and then later in the quarter we'll get DTS HD-MA. I think if we get it in May that would be nice, but it's lookin' more like June.

The quote on speed/performance of the PS3 confirmed what I figured - no standalone player is going to hold a candle to the PS3 in terms of speed any time soon.

we'll have to see about the new players coming in a few months. hope sony "borrows" some parts for better loading times

Not the case at all, obviously this is Keith's speciality, but in terms of useful horsepower players will catch up to the PS3 very soon. Now the PS3 is an awesome media powerhouse, but it has to do so much compared to a standalone player, even when player mode rather than game mode. Standalone players will catch up and surpass the performance of the PS3, just ask Keith...

My conclusion was based on the fact that I thought the ps store update counted as part of the major quarterly update. Knowing what I know now, we may still get DTS HD-MA this quarter. I guess I shouldn't speak before I know the facts.

But on a lighter note, I did learn a little more.
Also, does anyone know when Q1 began for Sony?
