Most likely he isn't. I was just trying to think of something more interesting happening than what is currently being shown. It just never made sense to me why they would introduce an entirely new killer during the last season of the series. Maybe Vogel is the BS and maybe this is how it plays out. Last episode dexter has Vogel on his table ready to kill her and just as he does Deb and Quinn walk in with guns pointing at him. Just as Quinn is ready to shoot dexter deb shoots Quinn and then just as she points it to dexter everything fades to black. 10-15 years pass and they show an older Harrison with an older Deb. still on the police force she gets a call saying that a recently captured mass murderer who got off on a technicality has been missing for 5 days. Implication is dexter caught and killed him. Show over...

It's also the song they used in LOST, when Desmond is first seen. Sorry, but to me that song has LOST written all over it now.

Exactly what I was thinking. Major Lost ripoff.

I'm pretty sure Yates is the "real" BS and I think that the Vogel character will slowly disapear. There's only 7 episode left and it doesn't feel like it's the final season, I hope the Vogel and BS subplots are over. We all know Hannah McKay is involved in the last season so it doesn't leave much room for the whole series to unfold.

I don't think Quinn will have anything to do with Dexter arrest or kill.

[Show spoiler]Quinn have no power outside Miami, I don't expect the show to end there as episode 10 is called "Goodbye Miami", he'll probably get drunk and mess everything up like usual, he's gonna be really mad about not being the new sergeant

Just an FYI for Brighthouse cable subscribers. I just noticed the other day that Showtime and TMC are no longer available due to CBS refusing to allow those channels due to a fee dispue. This means no Dexter for me and a lot of oher people for the forseeable future. I live in central FL where Brighthouse dominates cable TV, but the Showtime blackout is also affecting other major metro markets from what I hear.

I have like 18 TMC and Showtime channels normally. On the missing channels it says I get Starz and Encore for free as a replacement while TMC and Showtime are blacked out. Thing is I already F'n pay for Starz. So they're replacing my missing channels with channels I already pay for. Nice one TWC/Brighthouse.

This plus Hannah, I guess it'll end with Dexter getting hit by a car, there won't be enough time to play it out...

I just don't care for the angle they seem to be taking there. We've already had
[Show spoiler]Dexter take someone under his wing and attempt to teach them in season three (which was a great season) and in season 5 (which was rather poor). I know it's a little different with the way they're setting things up, but it's still the same basic idea. I just don't care to see that story again with a slightly younger participant and a change in the relationship dynamic.

I do like seeing
[Show spoiler]Hannah back in the picture though. It's not likely to happen, but a Bonnie and Clyde type of relationship with her and Dexter would be far more interesting.

Heck,
[Show spoiler]having Quinn find out about Dexter and, having just been passed over for a promotion, decide to team up with him - not to be another killer, but to provide a layer of protection and assistance from the police side of things - would be more interesting. If anyone at Miami Metro would see the value in what Dexter does, it would be Quinn.

And of course, maybe it's all misdirection of some sort.

...but it's been quite awhile since the writers for Dexter were able to do any serious misdirection or turn in major plot twists that weren't telegraphed far in advance. I guess I was just hoping for more from this season since it's the final one. One last hoorah with the writers really bringing their A-games. But we're halfway through, and it's all been very underwhelming for me, especially since
[Show spoiler]they're making it look like we're headed for yet another retread of a basic plot line that's been done twice already
.

Maybe that's just me though.

This season just feels rushed with nothing of real interest happening. Something happens and then it's solved right away. Dexter goes free for all and does whatever he wants. Like they aren't going to finish the series this way so he's totally invisible.

Just makes me sad really that its ending like this.

Mid season is where it picks up so here's hoping!

I guess we know what they were talking about when they mentioned a possible spin off now.

I feel like they started writing one season (the brain surgeon), then were told they had to end the series and started a new season mid-way through. Kind of frustrating.

Miami metro I guess just dropped the case? They don't seem to concerned that a serial killer is (as far as they know) still out there.

Yeah, the writers don't like to pull the trigger on their set ups. A few seasons have had everything being reset with no real consequence to anything that has happened.

I always said I would have liked Dexter to have been caught last season. And then have had this season been Miami Metro using Dexter to help catch a horrible serial killer (ala Hannibil Lector) - with Dexter escaping at the end to end the series (and could even lead to Dexter movies). Instead, we get - "how do we get a spin off out of this to make more money" from the studio execs. Ugh!

Just a side note, my wife and I laugh at how nice his nanny is to stay all day and night with his kid. Even on her Birthday he asks her to stay for hours at night. Not only that - Quinn sees Dexter out moonlighting as a detective (so he thinks) and isn't upset that his girlfriend is working late so Dexter can play cop? Seriously, sometimes these writers make me cringe.

Nah, Dexter will kill Zach, he'll realize he made a mistake teaching him the code.

The season seemed to stall for me this episode. The teaser for this weeks show (seeing Quinn spot Dexter in what we thought was the act) was a huge let down.

I am beginning to think the End Game is going to be a huge letdown as we only have I think 6 more episodes to tie this all together.

I always stop the show right when credits start. I find the show always reveals big moments - or, they show them out of context and set it up as something completely different, which then turns in to a big let down.

Dexter has the worst previews and promos.

Sounds awfully familiar to last season's ending with La Guerta
