2 Xeon quad-core processors... but now I have to put it in production for something... which sucks, so I have had to movie it to an older server. Still a good machine, running a Xeon dual-core.

no, I mean how many instances of the SMP client are you running on your server?
If you are running only 1, you aren't using that machine to it's potential.

You might want to run 2 or even 4 on 2 Xeon quads

The "rule" to maximize output is to run one SMP client per each 2 cores. Affinity changer service should be installed on all Windows boxes (regardless of the amount of SMP clients).
Important: multiple SMP clients on the same physical processor should be configured with different "machine ID's" and should be ran with the "-local" option.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like there's many participating PS3's in our neck of the woods for this site.
Glad to have more people on board!

Heh, sounds kinda like Greek to me (have never played with the SMP client before), but on the bright side I did get my Q6600 up and running finally. It's been a long night though

I still need to haul the box back downstairs and let Windows XP bring itself up to date. My disk doesn't even have Service Pack 2 on it, so that will probably take a while, and seeing that it's 6 a.m. some sleep is now in order. Any chance somebody can point me at the SMP Clients for Dummies resource?

just joined the team with my ps3, used to fold about a year ago with my pc, but stopped as it really did eat resources and i use it for animation and special fx rendering, so i kinda needed the power of all the cores of my processor, but when im not watching dvd's on my ps3 it will be on to add to the team.

The username and team # you see listed in the top right corner under DONOR is where the points will go. One note here, where it says Completed is how many units have been successfully uploaded to Stanford. If you have any completed units in the queue that have not been able to upload for any reason, they will not add to the displayed Completed total until they upload.

Edit: Double check the team number you have entered. The only record Stanford has for username Bumblefoot89 is listed under team 0, default. Either that wasn't you and your units havent hit the stats yet, or you entered the wrong team number.

Thats probably because i completed 3 work units under team 0, as it was a replacement ps3 and half way through a current unit i switched to this team. So i presume i will go onto the stats after the next unit.
