Damn, I'm having a good day...
New receiver, cigars, Bears preseason in a few hours and now a great November slate. I'm a little leery of the dual-format but eh, we'll see. The City Lights and Frances Ha covers are pretty freaking awesome, btw. |

Yeah, because Pirates is really Criterion-worthy. I could see Macbeth and Tess, but... not all of Polanski's stuff is good enough for Criterion.

It does. That doesn't change the fact that, to me, it looks like it was done in a rather haphazard and awkward manor. Just the way everything is arranged looks sloppy. The font in particular looks bad.

But if you're going by that then they technically didn't release announce another Ozu title as Tokyo Story has already been in the collection for years.

I think this is one that everyone who must have it will wait for a B&N Sale.

Yeah, but there's a lot they can't release. Chinatown already has a great blu release from Paramount. Warners owns Fearless Vampire Killers, Frantic, Oliver Twist.... Studio Canal owns The Pianist, Death and The Maiden, Ninth Gate, Bitter Moon, etc.
The ones you listed and Macbeth are the only ones they COULD release.... Those and maybe 'What?' |
