They have some good stuff, I think, at Costco if you can swing a membership there. Nothing wrong with good chicken or turkey either.

Costoc is the same way. salmon is $12.99 a lb ont he cheap end. and Tuna and Halibut around $8-$10.99 a lb at costco... when we're lucky we can get cheap ass Keta salmon for $4 a lb on blow out sales and I grab as much as I possibly can to stock up the fridge, but that's not very often. as a result I eat a LOT of chicken (less than $2 a lb down here. and to splurge pork and beef (I'm a bbq nut so I GOTTA make ribs and brisket when I can)

Yeah, I only eat wild caught (hoping it is labeled correct, that is).

I don't keep data, but I do monitor how much fish I do eat due to the mercury content.

I go down to the harbor and buy live shrimp! Love it! We dont get filets like Mahi Mahi here. I miss it. Most of the fish here is served with heads and tails. Once you get used to picking out bones it is good! Gonna go buy some tomorrow and maybe some clams. Get these they are about 2"

isn't the majority of the fish at Costco Farm Raised?

mostly. they have a few fresh caught, but it's in the fresh section only and for usually $12+ prices at the min per lb (I've seen some at $18+ per pound for fresh Atlantic Salmon)

I'm very picky on my fish, its my favorite I and only get the freshest Lucky for me I live on the water and fish markets are everywhere so its never an issue picking up something good

unfortunately us desert bound people are stuck "importing" fresh fish so I'm stuck with either farmed or over priced fresh wild caught most of the time .

For those of you that are curious, I've done it the old fashioned way, through a healthier diet and (lots) of exercise.

I started working out on the elliptical machine 3 days a week for 30 mins each time. Then I worked my way up to 45 minutes every other day increasing the resistance. I am now up to 70 mins 4 times a week on the elliptical. I also just yesterday, ran my first 5K (no stopping!). I haven't missed a workout since I started exercising on Feb. 11, 2013.

ok, that's it. i'm going to start getting back to it.

i'm at just about the same as your weight in the top pic and want to get back to where i was before i started this crap; maybe to where you are now. i don't have an elliptical at the house (and going to the gym isn't an option right now), but i do have a treadmill and can use that at any time. plus, i do like to walk outside around my neighborhood so i'll probably start doing that (been thinking about it more and more the past couple weeks anyway).

right now, i'm wearing xxl (and sometimes, 3xl) shirts and am a 44 in the waist.

i've been thinking to myself that if i could lose 50 pounds, i'd be in much better shape and would probably be in waaaaaaay better health.

i can say that i really don't anything that's fried. if i do cook any meat (chicken, steak, pork chops, fish), it's usually cooked on the grill. i know the red meat is bad for me, but i have chicken way more than i have read meat. and i have been eating tuna w/rice for lunch the past few days. but i know it takes more than just eating better to get down to a target weight.

plus, i'd love nothing more than to not have to look and look and look and look for clothes that fit me. i HATE having to go into the "big & tall" section or to a "big & tall" store.

that's it, i've had enough. time to start some work......

and thank you.

First of all, your welcome! Second, you can do it! If I can do it anyone can do it! You just need to think of it as a lifestyle change not a diet.....that includes exercise! The treadmill would work just fine! I'm a big believer in cardio now! That's how I lost all of this weight! My advice to you is once you start, never give yourself excuses to miss a workout. I haven't missed a workout since I started (Feb 11). I have worked out at 0500am and 1000pm....you just have to find time for you. It feels great to shop off the rack again! And I'm buying t-shirts at American Eagle! I never thought I would fit not anything at that store! My 3 Large American Eagle Shirts I bought are already getting loose! I can't imagine going down to a medium, but it may be in my future!

In addition to the exercise, I have been calorie and serving size conscience....know what's going in your mouth as far as calories go....no surprises then if you gain/lose weight.....

Good luck and PM me if you need any additional tips that may have worked for me...happy to help!

just finished my first walk a little bit ago. i went 2 miles in just under 30 minutes. a slow pace, but it felt good to get out there and actually do something instead of sitting here thinking about it. plus, it's nice and not hot or humid outside so that made it quite a bit easier.

already looking forward to tomorrow.....

I had my first real splurge day in a long time.

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and I ended up eating 15 Mango Habanero Traditional wings. Calculated it to be about 1800 calories. I went over everything today... Glad I ran about 4 miles and rode my bike another 4 miles today. :-)
