The old logo was great but it was discovered that someone else owned the design rights to it, so DC Comics switched to this new logo when they launched their new comics universe in 2011. The new logo only works in motion, on film or television product.

The only thing I disliked about these blu-rays is that cover art should have been related to the art in the movie. Though this versions cover is the best of the 3.

As far as I can tell, Jim Lee draws everything for DC that is outside of the pages of a comic book nowadays.

Pretty sure Cartwheel will have a 10% discount for this, too, as all the previous Target exclusive media releases have been featured in there.

I got parts 1 and 2 for a steal during Best Buy's January U&S when Part 2 was released. Perhaps I'll gift those to my brother for Christmas and pick up the steelbook for myself.

Yeah... I got the original parts for $10 each because they came out during upgrade and save times at Best Buy... so $20 for the pair is hard to beat... which is why I had been ignoring this deluxe edition until seeing this steelbook thread.

I seriously only paid $13 for the pair at Best Buy, both pristine slipcovers

--Price-matched Target sale prices on both ($13.99 for Part 1 and $12.99 for Part 2)
--Traded in a DVD for each, so $5 per coupon
--Used the $5 off coupon found on DKR Pt 2

I felt like I robbed them when I walked outta there that cold January afternoon.

I bought them as they came out... so I didn't get to use that additional $5 off coupon.

All of these DC Animated films are easily worth $10-$15 new... and it is nice we keep getting good deals on them.

If I had known this was getting a steelbook, I would've waited to get the movie.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but for those in Canada, this will be released as an Amazon.ca exclusive. This is good for importers from other countries as well since Target doesn't ship internationally.

I don't mind the logo itself (just the DC part with the D peeling away):

[Show spoiler]

Putting that nice and small in the corner, fine. What I don't understand is making it look like the cover art itself is peeling back, by a relatively HUGE amount, to show the already-peeling logo. How many layers of peeling do we need here? BRAAAAAAAM. Peelception.

Sold my individual releases as soon as the Deluxe Edition was announced (I'm slipping with age, should have seen that coming! ). All I can say is, DAY ONE purchase here.
