I never watched the first 4 "Fast" movies, but I have watched the last two and thought they were reaaaaally enjoyable.
The only reason I went to see Fast 5 was because the new Transformers trailer was playing before it, and rather than get up and walk out after the trailer, I stuck around...and I'm glad I did. ![]() I plan on checking out all subsequent "Fast" films until they start to bore me. Of course if Kurt Russell is in...so am I. ![]() |

I think 4 is underrated, but the overuse of CGI is a massive kick in the balls and kills the momentum of the movie.

I love 2 Fast 2 Furious, even though many people here seem to hate it. I think my least favorites could be 1 and 3, mostly because they're way too focused on the street racing aspect of the stories. I prefer 2, 4, 5 and 6 because their narrative structure is more my kind of thing: an action story with an actual villain and the stories do not rely in the street racing thing; it's just an element of the films, but not what the movies are built upon. I think 2 is a lot of fun and it's still one of my favorite of the franchise. |

Bad news, folks. According to Vin Diesel himself, in an interview he did with his close friend Maria Menounos, he mentions how he wants to do Fast and Furious 8 and 9 before he does 7. While he doesn;t directly mention the Fast and Furious franchise, it's the only series franchise that he's working on that is close to those "numbered" sequels.
Whether this is what Universal is doing might be different but I found it strange that Diersel mentioned this, even though casting has been going forward with Fast 7. It would be strange if Fast and Furious 8 and 9 were produced before 7, unless Statham is filming another movie at the time that Universal wants to do Fast 7. The video is the full interview where Vin Diesel talks about a lot of things, even his future work with marvel Studios. |

You know this is a franchise that can go on for a very long time. After they finish 9, they can do some more spinoffs then continue the main story with Paul Walker's kid and start a new generation of characters. That would be a good reason to bring back the original cast again for cameos, or at least acknowledge them. Remember, it's all about family.

I actually hope they just make these films in order. I think when Tokyo Drift was released, that Universal didn't think there was going to be any more films, until they opted to drop Vin Diesel at the end of the film and it took off. I'm all for producing these movies in the proper time/chronological order.
