No, I think I just use antiquated language from time to time.

Thanks for reporting this guys, I've removed the mass copied comments. While I didn't read all the comments, the guy don't seem like a troll, just disappointed in lower quality HD DVD to BD ports, which we will hopefully see less of now

Well, unfortunately, Shark seems to be at it again. While this post isn't quite as bad as the first one, here's the new one:

"Mpeg 2 and VC 1 are identical except for 1 paramitor changed by Mircosoft. This codac will make the movie exactly the same quality as HD DVD. As we all learned, copying an HD DVD to a Blu-ray disc means they will be exactly the same quality in every way. I recomend buying movies in AVC as the bit rate is much higher giving more colours and shades, better with dark pictures and fast moviing action. Lets use this form to let the studios know their not going to sell us the high resolution copy of the DVD they have on file, but have to remaster the movie in AVC which is far better suited for Blu-ray. Other wise they will start bring out special additions in a few years after they remaster them in AVC, in order to sell us the same films all over again. Lets not be the suckers they think we are."

Well I suppose it was only a matter of time before he appeared again. He is spreading FUD in the 10,000 BC announcement... Apparently VC-1 was a relic of regular DVD and studios don't like people or something...

After you posted that I decided to check out the other news announcements, and sure enough, he's posting the exact same thing over and over again in all the announcements that are from WB or just deal with VC-1 in general.

I dunno after reading all that he is just expressing his opinion that the studios need to put a better effort into bringing out Blu-Ray quality material. Rather than some HDDVD acceptible AQ, He is saying why not bring the AQ up to what we expect as HT enthusiasts. I agree with him as far as the studios(WB) need to produce it right the first time so we dont have double dips(i.e Full Metal Jacket). I am sure I will be hung to a post and crucified for my opinion but for the most part his opinion is somewhat true. We are the consumers purchasing subpar blu-ray releases from certain studios and we need to let them know that isnt what we are looking for.

This is just another HD DVD Copied to a Blu-ray Disc. Mpeg 2 and VC-1 are both antiquated relics from the old DVD format which should be discontinued. Companies still using them should stop as VC 1 is exactly the same as Mpeg2 except for 1 minor change Microsoft made to make it theirs. They both have fixed bit rates which are half of the Blu-ray AVC - Mpeg4 codec. I don’t know about you but I was in the Format fight because of all Blu-ray had to offer, and no one said anything about, if Blu-ray wins, we'll just copy our HD DVD's onto Blu-ray Disc's and sell them that. If we give up now on the quality, these guy's will sell us HD DVD copied to Blu-ray Disc's if it will save them a dime and resell us the same movie again in two or three years remastered in AVC Special Editions with DTS Master HD or LPCM audio. Let's not be complete Muppets this time around. Blu-ray should impose AVC Mpeg 4 as the Standard for Blu-ray like Mpeg 2 was for DVD. Let's see if Sony was serious about quality and not just using AVC to win the format war then do what ever they want afterwards. I notice that Sony has released several movies with Dolby True HD Sound tracks which is inferior to LPCM and DTS Master HD so I'd say if we say Nothing were up the creep with out a paddle. Be patient; don't just jump because they put some good titles in front of you. That's what these guy's do to take the suckers out first. When HD DVD brought out these same titles on HD DVD I didn't just go buy a HD DVD player and in the end the better format won. The same goes here. We should hold out for quality so we don't get sucked in again. If these guy's want to sell movies in the future they will have to make new ones and not just sell us the same movies over and over again. And for heaven sakes speak up and make yourselves heard or they’ll think you don’t care. They counting on you doing nothing, so do or say something. Get involved, and have a say. That’s what this forum is for. It’s not the shopping channel, or the everything is ok as long as it’s on a Blu-ray disc club. Buy the way I was one of the guy’s that told you not to buy HD DVD, was I right?

I kind of a gree with this, just for the simple fact that he keeps posting the same made up nonsense over and over and trying to pass it as fact. He also just keeps copying and pasting it in all of the news threads that deal with VC-1 or WB or Universal. Basically anything that might contain something assosiated with HD DVD...

Bad news... looks like he's back again. I just looked at the 10,000 BC thread and he posted the same stuff again.

On the Predator review comments page, too, now.

...EDIT: And Commando, and the Fugitive...the list could go on.

No more leniency! Like they said in Mortal Kombat in our youth - FINISH HIM

lol, I just said I kinda agreed with him, I didnt say he should take it to church for the whole choir .lol!! Yes thats a bit overwhelming of an opinion he has, some parts I agree with but I believe he should start himself a thread about it and argue there, not on the movie reviews that more people read than the forums.
Please rate the individual movie, not the studio's choice in encoding

The thing is, yes, he may be pushing for higher quality products, but he keeps posting the same lies over and over again. He's made up his own "facts" and continues to post them everywhere. It will confuse newer members. Saying things like "Dolby digitals true hd is heavily compressed" is just plain wrong. He doesn't understand compression at all, but he's definitely preaching about it. It's much like how HD DVD supporters would spread FUD and lies about things.

I honestly think this person just doesn't know what they're talking about. Normally, I'd say "well lets just educate them" which others have tried to do, but it doesn't seem to be working. Now he's telling me I "don't know my ass from my hat"? Nice...
