Hi JV and Al.

As far as the video, it was filmed on 35mm film and has been newly remastered, so it looks pretty great. It does seem to be slightly degrained, but it still has some pretty good detail. It's not the flashiest looking concert blu-ray I've seen, it has some fairly normal lighting overall compared to some concerts, but I think that gives a bit more depth to the picture.

The audio is supposedly remixed from the original seperate audio stems and sounds pretty spectacular. The surrounds do have a bit of a slapback echo, more of a slight delay than reverb, but it's very subtle and not too distracting. It has a good bit of fairly tight, deep bass overall, with the kick drum coming through a bit more than the low end of Tony Levin's bass guitar and Chapman Stick than I would like, but this is just a minor complaint. It's really very nice and dynamic overall.

The performance is great. It was filmed near the end of the "So" tour, which is arguably when he and his band were at the top of their game, and it has most all of his popular songs mixed in with some that I was less familiar with. I actually really dug most of the songs that I hadn't heard as much before. It does have a bit more of the odd stage theatrics than I would personally care for, but that's to be expected with Peter Gabriel.

There are three reviews for it on Cinemasquid, and all three gave the audio a perfect score.

I really need more time to get familiar with the whole thing, but from my first impressions, I really enjoyed it. A friend of mine has the Secret World Live BD, and I would say that this new one completely blows it out of the water in terms of the audio, video, song selection, and overall performance.

Hey Joe - On the SECRET WORLD Live tour blu', does he have that long connecting walkway to a smaller circular stage, where the drums/keyboards come up from underneath when the band is performing on that end? If so, that is the tour I saw. We had 2nd Row seats right to the side of the Circular Stage so talk about Incredible Seats & views of the entire band. I mean, Peter was Literally almost within spitting distance

Hi again Joe!

In my reply in my thread to the review you posted I said I was anticipating the release of PG's new album "And I'll Scratch Yours". It was was released a few days ago, but so far I only see a CD version and Digital Download. NO VINYL version? WTF? I'm sure it's coming, but I'm a little bummed about it not being out yet.

I've read about that one and the next one too. It's a pretty cool concept. I'd like to check both of those out. I'm not into vinyl, but I hope they come out with it soon for folks like you!

What's up Mahatma? I'm not a huge fan of The Boss, but I do like some of his stuff. I've got the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame BD set which has a few songs with him and his band on it. He sounds to me like he's constipated, and angry that he can't take a shit.

Yes hehe i thought you would like another one with Picard.

Oh not much. Been having some trouble getting my iPod Touch internet working (connected to my router). But in the end all i had to do was to reboot the ipod.. Go figure. Also im on a diet. 1850-2000 calories max on the days i workout at the gym and 1600 on inactive days. A bit sucky but that's what it takes for me to get lean. Only minus 20% of my normal daily requirements so not starving myself.

Sooo you're going all buzzed up huh?

I've already watched the theatrical version an obscene amount of times already, but I'll definitely be getting the "extended" version, even though it's only about 15 minutes more, unlike some of the LotR films, which are extended enough to add almost another film basically. Bilbo mentions my namesake on here when he says he's been as far from home as Frogmorton.

I believe I haven't seen it enough. I did look at it back to back when it first was released, but haven't since.

That is a title I need to watch before the weekend.
