I am totally going to put that in my next order from Amazon.de along with Re-animator, Society, and Sabata.

I bought Ninja III on day 1, it's a great 80's cult classic.

I did my part as well and bought "Deadly Blessing" and "Rolling Thunder." It is very sad to hear that they haven't performed to their expectations.

Too many sweet titles being shot down, I suspect some of them being for political reasons (the school based ones).....which is a shame since Im sure there is a lot of interest for them.

I buy almost everything from SF, sale price or not, simply because I love the genre and also to keep them working on future obscure releases.....I wish there was some restoration or new scanning on some of the titles, considering the prices, but oveall Ive been happy with the majority of the output transfer wise. I would rather put some more extra money into these horror catalogues and wait for big price drops on the majority of mainstream new releases....more bang for my buck.

No Motel Hell?

I sure hope that's a 'not right now' and not a 'never'.

Same thing with my other top MGM wishes, Squirm and Deranged.

Bottom line is running sales like these on these more obscure titles is smart because it gets more people to pull the trigger on blind buys.
Can't imagine they'd have released NINJA III to begin with if they knew it would be slashed under $10 because it wasn't selling. Good for people buying it at $8, but bad for them and the prospects of future releases like it.

All three have been released in the UK by Arrow and all three are pretty decent transfers and include some nice extra features. Investing in a region free mod or player is a good idea if you are a horror hound as there are a lot of nice titles out there overseas.....Hammer horror especially.

I know this is a SF thread, just pointing it out....for those that are unaware or dont want to wait.

$8.99 is probably pretty close to Amazon's wholesale cost.

That's too bad about Silent Night, Deadly Night. I would have bought that Day 1 for $25. I can't imagine what the cover art would have been. And the extras! Anchor Bay or any other company won't give it the treatment it deserves.

Any guesses? It sounds like it was a previously DVD-only Shout! release. Slumber Party Massacre?

Also considering a blind buy on Terror Train. If you had to do a blind buy on one or the other, Terror Train or Town That Dreaded Sundown, which is the better choice?
I'm 2 hours late to reply, but The town that Dreaded sundown is currently on Sale at Boulevard Movies for only 9.99! I purchased it this morning and the total shipped price was 13.78. I also ordered The Burning as part of today's sales, and then picked up Hatchet at Best Buy today for 7.99.

At 1:51:20, Jeff and Cliff mention that apparently they had "Carrie" at one point, but lost it. MGM wanted them to have the film scanned, but wouldn't give them access to the materials to do the scan.

This doesn't surprise me. Some of these titles are cult classics that seems like they'd have intense but sparse followings. It was probably just a really vocal minority demanding Rolling Thunder or Ninja III. If Scream Factory is going to dip their toes in new markets (like you could argue happened with Ninja III) I'd be curious to see more euro-horror from them.

Carrie would be an awesome addition, how is the current release?

I've said it before and I will say it again: Shout should have packaged Ninja III with Revenge of the Ninja and Pray for Death. I think sales would have been a lot better if a cheesy 80's cult movie like Ninja III was combined with two of Sho Kosugi's more serious and in my opinion best movies. The same thing could have been done with American Ninja 1 & 2 and Avenging Force for Michael Dudikoff.

Bare Bones, Less than stellar quality.

And "Motel Hell" was just a "not right now", as they haven't made a new MGM deal yet.

Btw!!!

I might be wrong, but it seems Without Warning is owned by MGM and Greydon Clark (or another producer) jointly, according to the KillerPOV podcast. That's what's been holding up any release.

I've been on Vacation (to Cedar Point! I might add, for the coaster folks)
If anyone can give me the new release dates or any updated release dates that haven't been posted, I'll jump on that soon.

It's worth the $6.96 Amazon is currently charging for it, but there's plenty of room for improvement. It's an older transfer, and if you want extras you'll need either a copy of the special edition DVD to go with the Blu-Ray or a copy of the OOP combo-pack which includes the special edition DVD.
