I paid $82 for all nine blu-rays, which comes out to an average of $9.11 each.

Hey man. I've seen you around the galleries here plenty, but I believe this is your first post in my thread! Thanks, unless it was an accident. Nah, thanks even if it was an accident. I'll take what I can get.

Thanks Tommy. I'm trying to blaze through my pile of blind buys. I watched Pacific Rim last night. Not a very deep plot line or much character development, but it was a blast! I just now finished The Wolfman. It was a lot better than I expected from reading reviews. Next up is Battle: Los Angeles. From what I've read about the audio, particularly the LFE, I figured it would be better to watch this one before it gets really late.

And with that last post, I went from a Ninja to a Knight!

On second thought, that seems kind of odd. You'd think that a Ninja would be more sneaky, slippery, and sly than a Knight. I guess it means I've spent so much time on this website that I'm probably too fat to be a Ninja anymore.

I haven't checked out Pacific Rim yet but im guessing it's some kind of robot godzilla movie.

I personally didn't like The Wolfman remake (but then again the original wasn't so great to begin with. ) If i were a bigger fan of Benicio Del Toro then perhaps i would have liked it better.

Battle: Los Angeles doesn't have much story but it does however have a great soundtrack.

Enjoy.

It was just a hell of a lot of fun.

I thought the A/V were both absolutely suberb, and one thing that I think this movie has done better than almost anything I've ever seen before is how convincing the massive feeling of the sheer scale of everything really was. The camera angles combined with the plodding movement of the Kaijus and Jaegers just had so much incredible real weight to them, that it was staggering.

If I had to explain this film to someone who had never seen it, I would say that it's like Godzilla meets Transformers times ten!

I actually thought The Wolfman was surpisingly decent though not great, considering it has a 34% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie with as much over the top action as Battle: Los Angeles that ironically almost put me to sleep. It's like an oxymoron: insane action, yet somehow boring as hell.

I just now finished The Dictator, and while it had some hilarious scenes throughout, I thought it was just kind of meh overall.

I bought The Wolfman used, and it had a big scratch on it, so it skipped a few times near the beginning. Luckily I bought it at a place that allows full refunds on titles you're not happy with, so I will be returning it along with Battle: LA and The Dictator and putting my money towards something better.

Agree with your thoughts in Battle LA. I fell asleep watching that. Movies like that are boring because nothing "really" happens, just the same thing again and again.

The Wolfman was good. Performances seemed a little bit phoned in, but still pretty good. I got the SteelBook so quality of the movie has that extra bit of punch.

Will probably rent Pacific Rim. Was thinking if buying it. But your remark on characters changed my mind. Character development was the biggest thing missing in World War Z.

Good Knight Froggy!

World War Z seemed a million times more "phoned in" than Pacific Rim to me. Pacific Rim is a bit ham-fisted, but seeing how it's Guillermo, I tend to think it was somewhat deliberate. If nothing else, the story is good enough that the insanely good eye and ear candy make up for it.

I listened to some Neil Young, Steely Dan, and Peter Gabriel.

Now I'm listening to some Deep Purple.

EDIT: Now I've gotten into the hard stuff:
