I was going to make a post to this point, but you beat me to it. Imo (and I'll probably catch a lot of flack for saying it), I think anybody who brings any of these giant monstrosities (you should add Hummer and every other giant SUV class to your list, as well) into a cramped urban parking lot should automatically go on the "UPLAA" list. If you live out in the country and need to haul serious cargo, then I can understand, but if you use these utility vehicles as your daily driver in the city just to look kewl, demonstrate your monetary profile, or so you can "command" your piece of the road by brute intimidation...UPLAA list!

There's no place for these kinds of vehicles in the city for casual ownership on the roads, in the parking lots, or in Green-factor, and people need to wake up to the fact. You can barely get through the parking lot, if you have to walk between 2 large trucks, w/o dragging your clothing across dirty body panels or knocking your shoulder on a ghastly side mirror (the size of a barn door). They constitute a giant moving visual obstruction in traffic, regardless of how far back you tail. Hauling around an extra 3000 lbs of steel structure just to transport 1 person to work into the city everyday is clearly a needless consumption of precious gasoline.

I only wish mass awareness would take place where these giant urban-bound vehicles are seen as the huge politically incorrect blight that they are. It should be seen as the equivalent of wearing a fur coat derived from real animals, in addition to clubbing baby seals, amputated children arms from Africa, and blood spewing from harpooned whales.

Certainly, these kinds of vehicles do have their purposes. I'm not saying they should be abolished. I just feel people should be a bit more conscientious about choosing to own one just for reasons beyond "being kewl" or chasing a fad.

(Yes indeed, it bugs me THAT much.)
