Looks like CBS took note, the cover art has been updated with pics of Archer and T'Pol from Season 3...

Better, but still not thrilled with the cover. I just had to check Amazon and make sure that I preordered this...I did back on 9/27 for $76.99. Currently it's sitting at $119.99.

Im expecting the usual $69.99 on release day, which is still high....but it is Star Trek afterall, which has never been cheap.

Ive never seen past season 2 so Im looking forward to this season, especially since I have read it is more of a season long story rather than the one off story per episode that is the usual.

I'm sad to say I've never watched this show and with these prices, I probably never will.

Season 2 will probably be about $50 around or on black Friday since season 1 went down to that price. That's about as cheap as I've seen the blu-ray sets so far.

The new cover art is a good laugh. Why did they include a picture of T'Pol with the awful Vulcan wig - looks like she has a gargantuan cranium. It's like an orange on a toothpick. It has it's own weather system. I could be wrong, but I only remember the wig looking that bad during the first season. Edit: never mind, I didn't scroll down far enough on the Trek core page. Now I see that they changed T'Pol to her regular size cranium. Jolly good.

If your a Trek fan check it out. I'm almost done with season one on Netflix. I think people who say how bad this show is are wrong. I don't think it's nearly as bad as they say. Could be why I like it so far, I was expecting a disaster. Maybe you have to like Trek to start with. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect but give it a chance and see what you think. I also roll my eyes at the "Voyager is junk" club so maybe it's me.

Just picked up season 5 of TNG today and looking forward to this one. But, no word on DS9 or Voyager yet?

They are still busy with TNG, once that is finished I expect DS9 to follow, they already have the negatives for Season 1 so hopefully we might have a sampler or even the full Season 1 released towards the end of next year.

So do we reckon there'll be a Complete Series boxset at some point? Nothing announced alongside the Season 4 BDs

Trekcore reports April 1 as the release date for Enterprise Season 4. I'm gonna guess we'll see Season 6 of TNG probably a couple weeks before which actually conforms to rumors I've heard which said late Feb/early March for Season 6 and late May/early June for Season 7. Of course these same rumors also said Season 4 of Enterprise wouldn't hit until June or July so take it for what it's worth.

Call me a pessimist but I highly doubt we're gonna see DS9 or Voyager get the full TNG remaster treatment. If we see them at all, I suspect everything shot with the cast will be remastered in HD but the CGI shots will simply be upconverted to 1080p and we'll have a mix of HD and SD footage.

In regards to next year, I think if anything, The Animated Series is far more likely to be released because the entire series can be released in one set and it has already been transferred/remastered into HD so, like Enterprise, it simply needs to be put on disc and sold.

I think they wait a while for that... I imagine there will be a bundle of all 4 seasons together similar to TOS...

The later seasons will be tricky due to the sheer amount of CG but the first few seasons of DS9 used models so should be no more difficult than a season of TNG and they seem to have that down to a fine art now.

Very, very little was model work. As I understand it, only parts of the first season used models but pretty much from Season 2 forwards, it was 95% CGI and Voyager was 100% CGI which makes what I said before even more likely.

It also doesn't help that, reportedly, CBS has been somewhat disappointed with the sales of TNG after about Season 3 and they've been very disappointed with the sales of Enterprise. Given the fact of the CGI issues and the fact that TNG is supposed to be the best of the spinoffs and they're not happy with its sales, I'd say it's very unlikely we'll ever see DS9 or Voyager get the remaster treatment, if they ever get a blu-ray release in any form beyond a simple upconversion similar to what Farscape got.

I said reportedly they were disappointed. I've seen nothing official from CBS about it nor are we likely to ever see on the subject unless they use it as justification for not remastering DS9 and Voyager.

From what I've seen in regards to expectations, CBS I think was expecting TNG to be in the same sales bracket as something like Breaking Bad or Game Of Thrones and when it didn't sell as well as a show currently on the air, they considered the numbers to be less than they were expecting. Of course to expect a show that's been off the air for 2 decades to sell as well as a show currently on the air is foolish, but no one's ever accused these companies of being Rhodes Scholars when it comes to sales expectations.
