Every 80's slasher is a rip-off of Halloween. I was just wondering about the comparisons between the Slumber/Sorority series.

That's true, but in this case the main plot is pretty much directly lifted from Halloween and Halloween II, almost word for word.

I live in one of the (top 3) biggest city on the east coast, maybe its just because of a lot of people. But its not tight knit, its just Halloween here and in the suburbs is awesome. We have theaters that screen lots of older films. Adults pretty much leave their kids alone all night to do whatever they want. Picture the movie Hocus Pocus meets Trick r Treat. That's Halloween in my suburban hometown. Lol. I miss it, but were in the city now, the big things are the parties, Scarowinds, haunted houses, and the Lesbian mini-parade on Halloween. So I usually just go home to Trick or Treat, or I go to a party.

---
I hope we get some kind of announcement in time for Halloween. Something really good from Scream. Last year we got like 3 didn't we?

Sidenote: Definitely picking up House on Sorority Row on blu. I'm not sure about the Slumber blu yet because I already own the dvd trilogy.
Sorority House Massacre is a spin-off of Slumberparty Massacre.

They are kinda just unrelated sequels, made by the same production company.
Considered by some (most) to be a franchise.

I just rewatched Halloween for the first time in awhile the other day and it still holds up well and its very entertaining but I couldn't help but think throughout that it would be a much eerier and all around better movie without Donald Dleaseance running around dropping his stupid heavy handed "hes not a man hes evil" dialogue all the time. I know alot of people praise him but I think he's just plain bad.

I couldn't wait until the 31st so I ended up watching Prince of Darkness..

What a strange little movie. Quite suspenseful and atmospheric - it almost felt like a Fulci film at times to me! That is a good thing since the surreal tend to work for me..

Looked and sounded great!

I didn't like it. I love the man as a filmmaker, but when Carpenter misses with me, he's totally off. That said, I have only disliked three of the films I've seen of his: Dark Star, Prince of Darkness, and Escape from L.A.

I love Vampires. Most people don't though. It was my first Carpenter film that I can recall watching. Stumbled upon it while I was at a hotel.

Sony needs to give it to someone to put out on Blu. I don't care if its Twilight Time, I will still buy it.

I was supposed to get Mouth this month from Netflix. Let's just say I wound up being burnt out on horror movies for a few weeks, so I still have Motel Hell/Deranged at the house.

Assault will come by December. Vampires. I'll watch that and Ghosts of Mars the next time they appear on Crackle.

It's pretty screwed up Amazon is continuing to sell their product even though they've been made aware their releases are illegal bootlegs.

It pisses me off. What's to stop me from releasing a good DVD of The 'burbs or Class of 1999 then?

Speaking of making my own release, I just legally made my own Special Edition of Army of Darkness for $12 less than the cheapest I've seen the Boomstick Edition for. $3.30 for the Official Bootleg, $4 for Screwhead Edition. BAM! Special Edition for moi.

Oh. I know. I also might pick up Warner's Twisted Terror Collection and watch Somebody's Watching Me, which I also have not seen.

I also left off Body Bags, as I was only counting theatrical releases.
