Default Movie Recommendations Please

Looking for any recommendations. Can't seem to come up with anything I have not already seen or own. I have all the blu's out - the ones I want anyways ( 120+).

I am renting DVD's as there are no blu's I need to rent. Right now I have the wire season 1, carnivale 1 and 2. Seen them all but it's been a while.

Any good documentaries? Alien things? NatGeo, history channel? Discovery? Good older movies? Classics?

The obvious ones I have already seen. Just need suggestions. I have a craving for more info and video just can't seem to find anything worthy.

For docu. The pbs civil war series was great.

Depends on what you're into, I'm a big movie buff...love Japanese movies..

If you like Samurai stuff, check out

Ran
Kagemusha

Those 2 are probably my favorite samurai films.

For drama / comedy you may have missed, try:

Miracle
Second Hand Lions

Scifi

Thirteenth Floor
Dark City

Western

Professionals
Wild Bunch

Old

12 angry men (original)

You may or may not like these, just a few that I think are not of the norm.

You may have seen these but here is a list

Documentaries: American Movie, Darkon, Speedo: A demolition derby love story, Stevie, Word Wars, Trekkies 1 and 2, Spellbound, King of Kong.

Movies are tougher because you never know but here ya go:

Twilight (starring Paul Newman), Below (Directed by David Twohy), Dead Alive (Braindead, Peter Jackson), Dirty Pretty Things (Audrey Tatou), The Prime Gig (Vince Vaughan), Returner (Japanese Film starring Takeshi Kaneshiro, Aliens Movie)

Thats all I got.

Dead Alive is great, I actually like Bad Taste a bit better...and of course everyone knows of Reanimator.

I dislike most Anime, but here are some movies that are great (not on blu)

Ninja Scroll (you've prob. seen this)
Perfect Blue
Wicked City

If you have the stomach for it, Joe Bob Briggs does an excellent commentary track on I Spit on Your Grave...warning though, that movie is pretty graphic.

Another one is Last house on the Left...again, these prob. aren't the type you watch with wife/gf.

And for funny horror, I found Chopping Mall entertaining.

Holy Crap, Joe Bob Briggs, I forgot about that guy. He used to do the late night hosting duties on USA, TBS or something right. He showed some awful awful movies on there.

Joe Bob is great, I'd like to get more movies where he does a commentary track.

Never heard of him. Was he the guy that sat in a chair at the trailer park and did the commentary? Or am I thinking of the wrong person?

PBS has been showing a lot of Masterpiece titles lately that have been REALLY good, if you're into that sorta thing.

Sense & Sensibility (new one... not the Emma Thompson one), Persuasion, My Boy Jack (with Dan Radcliffe from Harry Potter fame), and others. They're all coming out on DVD, if they aren't out already, and well worth a look-see.
