I think the EE's of The Hobbit movies will have less extra material than the LOTR EE's. I'd bet good money that, to create the theatrical version of the trilogy, they had to use a lot of the extra footage that would have gone into extended versions of two films

The EE will probably over 4 hours by the time the third movie hits.

About what I expected it to be. Great news.

I just hope the pace is a little bit more picked up in this one, because the first dragged a bit in the middle.

SO if that 160 minute run time is correct (and it appears to be) the movie will be two and a half hours exactly and 10 mins of credits.

It is, both 24fps and 48fps available like the first film.

Wanted to watch this in IMAX 3D 48fps like the first one opening day but looks like I'll be watching it in 24fps in IMAX 3D first, saving the hour long train ride to Amsterdam for christmas break to see it again in 48fps.

The first film (with the high fr) is the only 3-d film I've been able to watch without getting a headache. It seemed a bit sped up at first but about 10 minutes in I was used to it. The clarity was awesome as well. Didn't see it in IMAX but it was still impressive.

I've been thinking about buying The Hobbit/LOTR books. There are so many versions out there. Is there one set that is better than the others?
