Number one: Make sure the 605 can breathe, you need at least 4-6 inches above for proper heat dissapation. Sounds like it's going into protect mode because of heat. This is especially true if it's happening during loud, or a super dynamic part of the audio track, as the reciever is pushing more watts to the speakers it's heating up. I would see if that's your issue, put it on the ground away from any covers and try it again. As for the media unit, I don't belive the reciever has to do much with the audio from a 2 source, and especially if it's not at 8+MBS like a blu would be.
