Default Buying new home and need advice

Ok, the new home has a room in the basement that is about 12' wide x 20' long (roughly). My questions are...

I have a 50" DLP TV. Do I put it so it would face length wise? So, then I can put a sofa in for seating. Or put it facing width wise, so I can put a few sofas (or whatever seating).

OR...Get a projector?

This may not be the best description, but it's late...it's my birthday...so I can do what I want today!

i say get a projector. the gf and i will be closing on a house the 31st and its got a full unfinished basement and i already plan on puttin a theater room in it. if its a dark room and you love movies as much as i do.you could put the screen on the 12' wall and just get some theater sets, like a couple rows of 3 seats. my opinion would be projector. good luck!

By saying a couple rows...are you saying building (2x4's and plywood) my own stadium seating?

stadium seating? thats funny!!

I think the TV and proper placement of the speakers with 7.1 ch audio is all you are gonna need. Build from there.

All you need ia a couch Love seat to be specific

My Wife and I are looking for a new house right now, and a suitable theater room is one of the "must haves" for the home..... so Projector is a MUST.

EDIT (that is of course because we don't have a large DLP etc.... so the projector will be our first "Big Screen" )

you could do that, or you could just buy seats and put like 3 in a row then behind them have 3 seats but move that row over alil so when youre sittin in the 2nd row youll be sittin inbetween the seats of the 1st row, if that makes sense.
