Like I said, I also experienced the sync issue on that song. I changed the sync on my receiver by 2 and it synced up fine. Are you running your player through a receiver, or straight to the tv? People that have not noticed the issue may not be running the disc through a receiver, or vice-versa.

It will be interesting to see how the Criterion will compare to the upcoming Eureka release, although we know that Criterion will beat it in terms of bonus material. And I gotta say that I prefer the original poster artwork of the Eureka release.
And kind of off topic, but has anyone else seen the new Olive Films announcements? https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=12782 Altman's Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean is getting a release in 2014. I haven't seen this but it sounds interesting. One Altman film I would really like to see (for the first time) and have it get a blu ray release is Quintet. Reading the synopsis, it sounds very interesting. |

FIVE AND DIME is great, day one for me.
Most people find QUINTET to be glacially paced. Perhaps that's appropriate, given the subject matter. I love Paul Newman, but I don't think that he was a great fit with Altman (including BUFFALO BILL AND THE INDIANS). |

And funny how Paul Newman is recognized as one of the all time greats but the movies he's made with two all time great directors - Hitchcock and Altman are recognized as being among the worst movies those directors have made. |

And that Nashville package looks really sweet. Even though I dislike the fact that Criterion have gone BD-DVD combo, I like that at the very least they've taken the opportunity to use the extra discs to have separate artwork on. |

If the amount of extras included prevent Criterion from giving the main feature a video bit rate of 30 mbps, then they should spread the release over two discs. In this case, that would've been a little more problematic since it was a dual format/DVD release as well, but they shouldn't have been doing those in the first place and it seems that they've luckily abandoned the dual format again now. Or they shouldn't use 20 mbps for their 1080i extras and end up using a lot of the disc. I am all for the extras looking good, but not if it affects the main presentation even slightly. Which it obviously did in this case. |
