Default The Avengers: IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IRON MAN DO NOT ENTER UNLESS YOU'RE SPOILED

I didnt see the ending, but just read about it. Very unexpected. Probably not to most of you, but to me it was. Just wondering when Avengers is made who will be in it. Obvious now that Iron Man and Nick Fury are members, but will we see Captain America, Thor, Ant Man, Wasp, and Hulk? Or a differant version of the Avengers. IMO I would love to see that team in action. And if so, you think Robert Downey and Samuel Jackson and Edward Norton will come along and reprise their roles? I would love to see it made authentically like that instead of having all new actors coming in. I know it would cost a shit load of money to have them all, but it would be worth it

Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, and Thor are definitely supposed to be in it, and Iron Man and Hulk are both slated to have cross-over cameos...

Supposedly (haven't gotten to see Iron Man yet), but Thunderbolt Ross is in Iron Man briefly, and Downey himself is in Hulk, meeting Ross in a smoky bar

http://comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4433.asp

not much, but at least he's in it.

As in the other post, Marvel wants to get the stories behind Captain America, Thor, and Ant-Man out first, so Avengers isn't bogged down with back story. it's a ways off, but the prospect is friggin awesome. Where Iron Man Vs. Hulk fits in, I'm not sure. Maybe it is just for Avengers.

Man, I'm getting some posts in tonight.

http://comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4475.asp

Downey's trainer talking about Iron Man 2 coming sooner than anticipated. It's looking like 2010. However, Downey signed on for three movies...could it be 2 Iron Man's and an Avengers? That's what I'm waiting to hear on.

In last weeks PlayStation Beyond podcast on IGN, i remember them talking to David Hayter (voice of Snake) and he said he had been trying to work on a Black Widow script. It seems either Marvel has plans for her, or they dont want to touch her. She might show up in an Avengers movie.

And I have heard that Iron Man is intended on being a trilogy. How this fits into the Avengers plan, i am not sure. But if they are to make an Iron Man 2, maybe some War Mechine and Hulk Buster Iron Man on Hulk action would be fun. lol

They need to do something with Silver Surfer too since he was supposed to have a spin off after being introduced in FF2.

I would think he will do Iron Man 2 then Avengers, then sign another contract if hes still interested. But Zak Penn said he wants Norton and Downey in Avengers, even though it could end up being mostly digital as seen in Beowulf. I really dont want to see that, I would rather see it live action

I have a pretty good idea that Robert Downey Jr. will make a brief appearance in 'The Incredible Hulk' this summer as, if nothing else, Tony Stark. And, if Marvel is smart about kicking up the marketing for whatever plans they have in the works based on what can be seen at the end of the 'Iron Man' credits, they will also have that character visit Bruce Banner in the same fashion... only this time, to make a bigger stink, within the actual film instead of after the credits.

I have a feeling that Marvel is building up to an INSANE release for 'The Avengers' that will have all of the cast covered from each individual film. Yes, it will cost a lot up front, but they KNOW it will pay off. Nothing like this has ever been done in Hollywood. And, with the quality of all these releases, they are sure to have a winner on their hands. Even if they just aim to break even on an Avengers film with Robert Downey Jr., Edward Norton, and "he who shall not be named at this time", it will be worth it to stake such a large claim on the superhero movie market.

It is way too early, but who would the Avengers face off against? What threat could bring these mighty heroes together and fit nicely in a time span of 90 min to 120 min?

Yeah, RDJ is already outed as being in HULK. I wonder if a surprise will come in though. I would like to see someone totally throwing us off guard, but I doubt it.

The build up for Avengers was such a secret before Iron Man. The ending basically announced the coming of the greatest comic book movie of all time. As sais above, with all the movies released before hand it provides it with a backstory for all the characters, so its basically no time loss and wasted in the movie, basically having all of them meeting up essentially right after they are met with by "he who shall not be named" even though he is named in this thread because it says do not enter if you havent seen Iron Man.

At one point, George Miller was in talks to take Justice League America down the all-CGI route a la Beowulf, and now Marvel’s dream-team flick, The Avengers, might be headed in that direction as well according to screenwriter Zak Penn (X-Men 2 and 3, The Incredible Hulk). Of course, this whole uber-caped enchilada depends on the success of this summer’s Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, as both Tony Stark and Bruce Banner are key players. Director Jon Favreau has previously stated his interest in directing a live-action version that would team up Robert Downey Jr. and Ed Norton. Penn says that all-CGI talks have definitely happened…

I never followed the character or know anything about him, but what happened to the Iron Fist movie?

If done well, I would look forward to each and every one of those. I would love a good Thor movie, but dont know if I would want Ultimate Thor or traditional Thor. Heck Wolverine could even tie in to Avengers some how, he is part of the new team.

It is early, but I would like a slew of villans, kind of like Spiderman 3.

I would love, love, love to see the Sinister 6

But I dont believe its possible due to them all being mainly Spiderman villans

All I know is that I am so definitely looking forward to the next 5-10 years of Marvel films now!!! This could be the beginnings of a very well thought out plan that Marvel wants to slowly build on over the next 10 years... at which time "all CGI" might not be necessary with technological advancements in the industry. Talk about a build up! Hell, I have never read comic books and I'm losing my mind over all of this stuff!

I dont know what happened to the Iron Fist movie either, never really heard anything, but maybe this will help

In May 2000, Marvel Studios brought Artisan Entertainment to co-finance the film,[12] hiring Ray Park to star and John Turman to write the script in January 2001.[13] Park studied a wide amount of comic books.[14] Kirk Wong signed to direct in July 2001, with filming set for late 2001/early 2002.[15] Iron Fist nearly went into pre-production in March 2002.[16] Wong left the project in April 2002.[17] By August 2002 pre-production had started.[18] Filming was pushed back to late 2002,[19] and then to late 2003.[20] In March 2003 Marvel announced a 2004 release date.[21] In April 2003 Steve Carr entered negotiations to direct.[22] In November 2003 the release date was moved to 2006.[23] In March 2007 Carr placed Iron Fist on hold due to scheduling conflicts.[24]

As for Thor. I think it will just be the traditional Thor. And I dont think Wolverine will be tied in just because it would be too much. Then you would have people arguing for Spiderman as well.

The Roster should be the founders

Thor
Iron Man
Ant Man
Wasp
Hulk
Captain America

I would love to see a DR. Strange cameo, and maybe some others like Wolverine and Spiderman and FF

I would be scared of too many characters. I remember Mortal Kombat 2, that movie was horrible because they tried to do too much and have too many of the characters from the game. Much like the later Batman movies, they kept adding people which seemed like they felt they had to to top the previous movies.

But I would think it would have to be a big event or super villian team the Avengers would have to face off against.
