Wow, I knew it got pushed back, but a whole additional year. It was originally delayed until January 2014, because of the Universal distribution deal.

When you push back a finished film three times and two years (Originally scheduled for February 15, 2013, pushed initially by WB to October 18, 2013; Pushed due to new distribution deal with Universal to January 14, 2014... And now February 6, 2015.), they're just trying to find a location to dump it. It must really suck.

Yeah, I Frankenstein does have the over the top style to it. I'm hoping the action is as good as the Underworld movies. I'm not going in expecting a traditional Frankenstein, but them just using the name for an action movie with monsters in it. The guy that played Two Face (Dent) in The Dark Knight plays the lead role. Bill Nighy is also.

I can understand why it wouldn't appeal to others.

Feb 6, 2015. Wow. Bummer.
A whole year delay for Seventh Son. The competition was tight and movies about Dragons (outside of The Hobbit) generally don't do well at the box office. Oh well. This looked pretty cool. I'm guessing the 3D wasn't ready. Prime Focus may be working on it, and lately, they've been doing a very nice job compared to their earliest very mild conversions.
GI Joe Retaliation went from Summer 2012 to March, April 2013 or so, and the 3D turned out medium to strong 3D layering, so it was worth the wait IMO. I hope that is the case here. Thanks for the heads up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh_Son_(film)

Actually, it suggests being sold to Universal was the reason for the delay.

Yes, the preview played Saturday night on TV and said "In 3D" at the end surprisingly. Along with Frozen by Disney, Walking with Dinosaurs, and a few others recently.

January 10th.
I was treated to a 3D trailer of Frozen when I watched The Little Mermaid 3D the other night. CANT WAIT to get that one!! The 3D looked GREAT!

I guess I'll find out in 2015. A whole year, maybe that's just a temporary schedule placeholder till Universal decides where to put it, as they often do for video games without a release date.
Hansel and Gretel was delayed but that turned out to be an entertaining fantasy action movie with medium 3D and strong 3D pop outs. EDIT: And earned enough for a sequel confirmed.

That is good to hear if they crank up the 3D for strong 3D layers. Unlike with Underworld Awakening filmed mostly in 3D, which had mild 3D most times but for some medium 3D action shots.

Nice. EricJ mentioned in theaters, Micky Mouse Gets a Horse 3D played before Frozen and was worth checking out. Hopefully they include it on the blu ray 3D disc for Frozen 3D.

Default What should I get next now that there will be a lull in releases?

What a great couple of months for 3D bluray releases we just had. But looking ahead, the only major 3D releases I see in the near future are Cloudy 2 (end of Jan) and Gravity (Feb). Possibly interested in the Metallica film.

Any recommendations for older catalog titles that aren't in my bluray owned list? (I only tag my 3D discs).

I'm really curious to see Gravity 3D at home. I saw it at the IMAX and fell asleep during the scene with Clooneys character in the capsule near the end and woke up just before the credits rolled. Hoping it was because I was really tired and not that the movie put me to sleep.

Looking forward to Frozen the most on that list. Really liked Tangled and Wreck It Ralph so hoping for something as good if not better.

I'm excited for I, Frankenstien. The 3D looks great in the trailer and the action scenes look really awesome. 47 Ronin looks impressive too although the 3D in the trailer is rather mild.

In the theater, I see cardboard prop posters for Legos Movie 3D and Oz Animated 3D are on the way soon for 2014 in addition to this animated movie Walking with Dinosaurs 3D (2013 late December). Another one, though with very mild 3D in the trailer, Polar Bears Coca Cola 3D.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees I Frankenstein 3D as a potentially cool fantasy action movie. Aaron Eckhart trained in martial arts for the action scenes, which is expected, but gives a much better result for filming the fights. This isn't going to be a traditional Frankenstein story.

Seventh Son 3D on hold till Universal, the new distributor, decides where to put the new time slot. Currently set for February 2015, it was set for January 2014 till the studio was sold and bought recently.

So I'm the only one that thinks it is insane to have Frankenstein doing martial arts? I hope that it has amazing 3D so that it may cover up the absurdity of the movie.

Comingsoon.net has Resident Evil 6 out Sept 12, 2014.

You're right, it is absurd. I'm looking at it not as a Frankenstein movie, but as a fantasy action movie with them just trying to gain a bigger audience by calling it I Frankenstein. He is stitched together, but not sure what other relation it will have to the traditional version of the classic Frankenstein.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was equally absurd, but turned out entertaining.

EDIT:
Tigermoth, thanks for summarizing all of the newest movies on that first page list you took the time to assemble. Great job and thank you!

I'll be surprised if NFS's 3D turns out good if they have less than a few months to convert it, but in it's defense, RIPD's 3D was done in 5 months or so, and that was a really nice medium 3D hybrid conversion. So it's possible.

Being that you have 3 of the Golden Age titles I would recommend Man In The Dark which comes out next month on Twilight Time but is available for pre-order now from Screen Archives Entertainment now..limited to 3000 copies.....
