The fact that the Bengals won doesn't make the challenge any less moronic. Lewis burned his final challenge on a play in which the runner was clearly down prior to the fumble in an 8-point game midway through the third quarter. When you've already used a challenge you have to be fairly certain you're correct when you challenge a play, and in this situation one view of the replay would have shown that the runner was down.

I'm a little surprised Chase Daniel didn't go to a team like Cleveland or Jacksonville where he could potentially start. He's making top-tier backup money with a 3-year, $10 million contract but had to know the only way he was likely to start in KC was if Alex Smith got hurt.
