The more we're hearing, the more this looks like it could be some of the biggest Neil news in a long, long time. Ever since we posted the item below last week, speculation seems to center on this being the debut of The Archives on Blu-Ray DVD, which uses Java scripting for the multi-media menu functions.

Another rumor has it that this may be the Blu-Ray technology which is showcased with the un-released Crazy Horse Album Toast.

Whatever happens Tuesday morning, we think it will be a real milestone. And not just for Neil fans but music and technology fans as well.

There's already a buzz in the tech world that has some speculating about whether this is all just hype.

This had been rumored for a while so I'm happy to see this come to fruition.

I spent much of yesterday afternoon and this morning with Neil as he announced this project. It is really going to set a new standard for state-of-the-art treatment of audio/video material. The interface is fantastic, as is the way new content will be made available via BD-Live.

Lucky you, I been a fan for a good 25 years now. Any idea how quickly part 2 and part 3 of the Archive project would release? Do you think most of the work is done and it is timing or will there be many more years in this project to still put all of it together?

I hope every other artists, including the indies, follow suit. And I hope that these will be multichannel mixes.

NY has quite a few DVDAs released already. Will they get remixed (since it was announced as 24/192)?

well, basically same info but hopefully this gets a lot more exposure. I'd love to have more music and concerts released. Next great one would be a complete re-release of Pink Floyd My tastes have changed over the years but NY and PF stayed with me from high school to this day.

I'm going to speculate that it will be many more years for future releases, he's got lots of projects in the hopper. I think we'd be lucky to see Volume II in two years...

So, will the BR features all NY songs ever put on vinyl or CD, and ways to play them as singles, LPs, comps etc ? I would pay up and beyond 100 bucks for that.
