Fantastic news! I'll be sure to get at least half of the titles listed if the price is at all affordable. This will make my Christmas!

I believe Criterion lost the rights to both of those films a few years ago unfortunately.

Do not expect any Kurosawa films until after they're out in Japan, and there are none scheduled there

Bug Toho and not Criterion, because there's no question they want to do them sooner rather than later.

Is this a prank. Pinch me, I must be dreaming! The Criterion catalog is my holy grail. I'd start with 'Wages of Fear', 'The 400 Blows', and 'The Third Man', and hold out hope for future Blu's of Fassbinder's 'Veronika Voss', 'The Marriage of Maria Braun' as well as Tati's 'Mon Oncle' and 'Mr. Holot's Holiday', Bergman's 'The Silence' and 'Winter Light', Fellini's 'La Strada', Polanski's 'Knife in the Water', Spike Lee's 'Do the Right Thing', Hitchcock's 'Notorious' and 'Rebecca', Weir's 'Picnic at Hanging Rock', and of course 'Brazil'. Many more worthy titles, but too many to list here. My worry now would be that Criterion won't re-release many of their black & white titles on Blu-Ray because today's consumer wouldn't buy those titles in numbers to make it worthwhile. My other worry is can I resell my regular Criterion DVD titles on eBay as the new ones come out? I can live with the latter worry though!

Robocop would be cool (I've got it on Criterion dvd) but I don't believe they have the rights to it anymore, Dead Ringers also would be sweet.

I'm extremely, extremely excited in having Orson Welles and 'The Third Man' coming to Blu-ray. This announcement is very exciting news, and I for one, am especially pleased with the titles.

Can't wait!

I just pissed my pants. My fingers are crossed for Days of Heaven and My Own Private Idaho. Looks like it's time to start weeding out the collection to make room for some truly great films. The news keeps getting better.

Will be jumping on these titles initially:

The Third Man
The Man Who Fell to Earth
The Last Emperor
The Complete Monterey Pop
Walkabout
