Jason Campbell Andy Dalton Joe Flacco Chad Henne Jake Locker EJ Manuel Terrelle Pryor Phillip Rivers Matt Schaub Geno Smith and Ryan Tannehill And yet, the only other AFC QBs who I think are close to competing with the likes of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are surprisingly... Ben Roethlisberger, Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs, and maybe Andrew Luck, who I still think is to early to characterize based on his consistency ![]() The AFC had their hands full this year, when compared to the NFC... Drew Brees Colin Kaepernick Aaron Rodgers Russell Wilson Even these NFC QBs who are on some good teams, that do not need that much improving, but to stay healthy and study their game... Sam Bradford Jay Cutler Nick Foles Cam Newton and even Carson Palmer Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford |

Kaepernick and Wilson are dynamic and they add an extra dimension for defenses to prepare for, but they're also both helped by very strong defenses and running games. |

Since before we seen "Big Ben" Roethlisberger in action, and win 2 Super Bowls for the Pittsburgh Steelers, we've since seen several other quarterbacks before them, such as Roger Stauback, Fran Tarkenton, John Elway, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, and Steve Young challenging the position and changing the "State of the Quarterback" position from your traditional "Pocket Passers" now turned "Scrambling," "Out of the Pocket," and/or "Mobile" quarterbacks. These quarterbacks significantly were the start of an all-around drafting and/or playing trend in the NFL where other teams since then have drafted such like quarterbacks including... former Pittsburgh Steelers Kordell Stewart, Atlanta Falcons Michael Vick, Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo, Philadelphia Eagles Donovan McNabb, and the late Tennessee Titans Steve McNair, who have given way to other teams and organizations for future draftees, such as Tennessee Titans Jake Locker, Carolina Panthers Cam Newton, San Francisco Colin Kaepernick, Seattle Seahawks Russell Willson, Washington Redskins Robert Griffin III, and many more. To compare Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson to the likes of Alex Smith, Ben Roethlisberger, or even with the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler, would not only be a good comparison, but also a far assestment as well. With thousands of NFL and social network discussions, these quarterbacks are now what you would call or consider your 'Read-Option' quarterbacks, that have dynamically changed the way you play the position since the days of Ken Anderson, Dan Marino, "Broadway Joe", Ken Stabler, Roger Stauback, and Bart Starr. But to consider Sam Bradford, Joe Flacco, Nick Foles, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford, and even Ryan Tannehill as the same in playing style or even similar, wouldn't be so ideal. These quarterbacks are your more traditional 'Pocket Passers' with reasonable play comparison and/or style to others past quarterbacks like Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Brett Favre, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, and Kurt Warner, along with todays Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning. When speaking about Jay Cutler, Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers, Matt Schaub and even Super Bowl winners Eli Manning and Joe Flacco, these quarterbacks have continued to stay as inconsistent in their play as their young draftee counterparts have; Andrew Luck, Andy Dalton, Ryan Tannehill, as well as Brandon Weedon and Cam Newton. There is little to be said about the legacy of their play, as well as a significant amount of doubt, when it comes to their playing abilities, judgment on the field, and decision making in "Crunch Time" situations and performances, there is something to be said about "consistency." Nevertheless, in such critical games, such as playoff games, they may never have the opportunity, be given the chance to experience, and/or mature from such liberty, bask in their glory, or be given the opportunity to relish in victory, by continuing to garner in such weak productions from 'their game.' I wouldn't mind the Vikes getting Johnny Football. But I don't see it happening.

The biggest hole on your team, other than pretty much the entire defense, is at QB. The best way to keep Peterson and Allen from leaving is showing them you're willing to take chances to vastly improve the team. Trying to draft a franchise QB in April would help a lot.

Yeah Wilf is a terrible owner, idiots like him and Jones shouldn't be allowed to be GMs for professional sports franchises. I just wish the Cowboys could force Jones out somehow but as long as the fans continue to financially approve of his boneheaded decisions he will never change.
