Default I need some job ideas

I'm looking to get a job while the family business is still in its beginning/development stages. I have over a year's worth of management experience with a bachelor's degree in mass communication (focus in journalism and advertising). I love writing, so I'm trying to find something that would be a management/supervisor position that involves writing, but, I'm having a hard time thinking of what fields to look in. Any ideas?

Not that i had a clue about the majority of the things you say you have experience in but just like to say hope you find something appropriate & will enjoy

Not worth doing if you dont enjoy it unless theres a VERY HIGH income on stake against the job you enjoy

I would say though look towards a marketing type job which can be a possible match journalism & advertising you mentioned

Good luck

Fireman.

Do something rewarding.... If my wife would allow it, I'd go into the training process etc.. and probably take a HUGE pay-cut to become a fireman.

EDIT.... I still think I'll pose the option to her again tonight (it's been going on a couple years now... might be getting too old for it)

haha, as a real engineer it's absurd to hear how some jobs put engineer in them, but funny pic

OP - Good luck on the job search. I'd do a monster search just to see what's hot in your area of study. I think there's always a need for middle managers with some real world exp. and a degree.

Join the Navy. You get to write lots of Evals and reports. One of the most important qualities a good officer needs is writing skills. Plus you get to threaten to launch missiles at people.

It was only full for like 2 minutes! And why would you post this in a thread I hadn't even seen yet?

Back on topic, maybe you (bstecke, not JJ) could write reviews?

If I remember correctly, you live in Seffner. There are several jobs which may fit for you in Sabal Park (PharMerica, JPMorgan Chase, . Tons of office buildings, actually. Become a Business Analyst... lots of writing there, and the money puts you in the mid-5 digits to start.

Good luck!

Honestly if I could find a job that had anything to do with movies I'd do it in a heart beat. I'd love to write press releases, reviews, really anything, but I don't have enough journalism experience to get hired as a movie critic, and Florida isn't exactly the film capital of . . . well, anything.

Well even if you just did something on the side like writing reveiws in your local newspaper I don't think that you need College experience in Journalism?
