I forgot about The Shield as someone mentioned. I'm rewatching that series now and that is a great ending. |

True, but I still stand by my assertion that the vast majority of Star Trek fans liked/loved "All Good Things..."

I'm not sure what metric we're using to weigh how successful a finale is in general. There's loads if internet whiners for everything, it's not really a proper metric. For all we know the majority of people loved how Lost ended, but a loud minority makes it out to be horrible.
Anyway, in an attempt to comply... Star Trek: The Next Generation's "All Good Things..." is pretty loved, in my experience. It's a shame those characters got much worse endings in the "Nemesis" movie. Similarly I have never really heard anyone who liked DS9 complain about its suitably epic finale. The last few seasons of ER were pretty terrible but they did a good job on the ending, I think most people agree. Greene's daughter and Carter both returning to the hospital. The final pan out to show the building for the first time in 15 years. The king of all finales is probably Six Feet Under's. Talk about ending at your peak, and doing it in style. I firmly believe the majority of people who loved Sopranos for what it was loved the ending. People who kept watching that show hoping for more mafia action hated it. Law & Order had an unintentionally great finale with the whole cast meeting in a bar to toast to the future. X-Files had a HORRIBLE ending but I think most fans agree the previous season's finale was a great ending to the series if you ignore season 9. |

Six Feet Under
Great way to end the series Breaking Bad I thought the show built up to a powerful end. [Show spoiler] Boy Meets World Grew up with the show. Glad it ended with everyone saying goodbye to Feeny last Lost I for one loved the ending. I didn't care that minor stuff about the island got resolved. I care more about the happiness with the character and in a weird way, eventually all the characters got a happy ending. Roswell Even though its one of my favorite shows and one I was a fan of when it was on the air. I was just glad they didn't leave us hanging and tried their best to close all important loose ends. Buffy The Vampire Slayer Had a great ending Angel Kind of left you on a cliffhanger but on a good note 24 Even though the ending was similar to one of their previous seasons. Season 4 I think? I think it did a great job. I wish that Tony appeared in Season 8. I can't wait for the reboot. I hope they bring other members from the series that are alive like Kim and Tony. |
