Mike Newell's Great Expectations film is coming to Blu-ray on April 15th, 2014.

A humble orphan suddenly becomes a gentleman with the help of an unknown benefactor. Based on Charles Dickens classic novel.

Directed by Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire)

Starring: Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club), Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List), and Holliday Grainger (Anna Karenina)

*NOT the 1998 Alfonso Cuarón adaptation*

I'm not entirely sure that this is the Cuarón version. It looks like it might be the 2012 adaptation from director Mike Newell. It makes more sense for it to be Cuarón's since his work will get more attention now due to Gravity, but if you look at the cast linked on Amazon it refers to the 2012 version, and if you search the UPC, it brings up a DVDempire page linking to the 2012 version. The main thing that makes it look like the 1998 version is the fact that it's coming from Fox, I believe the 2012 adaptation is from Lions Gate.

Oops. I was completely wrong. This is the 2012 film version, NOT the 1998 film.

I updated my post above. I'm not 100% sure it's the 2012 version, though evidence seems to lean that way. Fox only distributes the 1998 one, so that's the one evidence to suggest it's the Cuarón adaptation.

I hope it's the '98 version. I was excited to get an auto notification from Blu-ray.com that this was available for pre-order. But now

I have just always really enjoyed this movie despite some of the hate it receives. Just had a really cool and sexy vibe about it with an outstanding soundtrack.

Nice, thanks for confirming. One minor correction though, the title currently reads 2002, instead of 2012.

The soundtrack to the 1998 version is awesome, and I agree it has a cool/sexy vibe. I'd love for that to be released. As for the 2012 version, it's got great actors, so I'll definitely check it out.

The release will be available for purchase on April 15th.

Director Mike Newell's adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel. Young orphan Pip finds his life changed forever soon after encountering and lending assistance to escaped convict Magwitch (Fiennes) on the marshlands near his home. Later, after being summoned to attend the stately home of Miss Havisham (Carter) and finding himself mesmerised by the old lady's beautiful but cold-hearted niece, Estella (Helena Barlow/Holliday Grainger), Pip learns that he has been granted an inheritance by a mysterious benefactor. After moving to London to be educated as a gentleman under the guardianship of lawyer Mr. Jaggers (Coltrane), a now adult Pip (Irvine), believing he now has the necessary social standing, sets about convincing Estella that he is worthy of her love.
